DigitalXNode is seeking an experienced Business Analyst for an India-based Banking & Financial Services project. You will drive end-to-end requirements, write BRDs and user stories, and collaborate with global stakeholders in an Agile setup.

You will specialize in Transaction Banking and Payments, including domestic and cross-border payments, ISO standards, and digital wallet ecosystems, while delivering customer-centric digital solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience, with 2+ years in a BA role in BFSI projects.

Job Summary

On behalf of our India-based client in the Banking & Financial Services sector, we are in search of an experienced Business Analyst with robust expertise in Transaction Banking and Payments domain to support large-scale digital transformation initiatives across Domestic & International Payments and Wallet journeys. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the end-to-end payments ecosystem, exceptional business acumen, and proven experience delivering customer-centric digital solutions within Agile environments while collaborating with globally distributed stakeholders. This is a fully remote opportunity available under full-time, part-time, or contractual engagement models.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end requirements gathering by engaging business stakeholders through interviews, discovery workshops, and collaborative planning sessions.
• Build business cases that align strategic initiatives with measurable business outcomes, supporting value realization throughout the project lifecycle.
• Document comprehensive business and functional requirements, process workflows, customer journeys, and solution specifications to enable successful project execution.
• Create use cases, business process models, wireframes, workflow diagrams, RTMs, and solution documentation to facilitate seamless collaboration between Business, Technology, and QA teams.
• Own product delivery artifacts including product roadmaps, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlogs using Jira & Confluence
• Identify and manage project dependencies, risks, assumptions, and quality assurance inputs, driving early resolution through proactive stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate with business and QA teams to support test planning, defect management, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production validation activities.
• Develop governance documentation, project reports, decision logs, and executive updates for project working groups and leadership forums.
• Track project progress against agreed milestones, budgets, and schedules while managing delivery risks and escalating issues that may impact project success.
• Lead release readiness planning, governance checkpoints, production deployments, and post-go-live assessments to ensure successful implementation and business continuity.

Required Skills

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in a Business Analyst role supporting Banking & Financial Services projects and transformation initiatives.
• Strong Payments domain expertise, including Domestic & Cross-Border Payments and SWIFT
• Knowledge of ISO 20022 / ISO 15022 and SEPA
• Hands-on experience with digital payment solutions, including digital wallets, peer-to-peer (P2P) transfers, mobile payments, bill payments, and related payment ecosystems.
• Strong knowledge of card-based payment products and transaction processing, including Credit Cards, Debit Cards (online and offline), Prepaid Cards, and Virtual Cards.
• Solid understanding of foreign exchange (FX) processing, payment operations, settlement workflows, and associated banking processes.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end digital transformation initiatives within Retail Banking, with ownership from business requirements through successful implementation and business adoption.
• Comprehensive understanding of the complete payment transaction lifecycle, including initiation, authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.
• Practical experience working within Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, or similar), actively contributing to backlog refinement, sprint planning, user story development, and solution delivery beyond standard Agile ceremonies.
• Strong proficiency in Jira and Confluence for backlog management, requirements documentation, user story creation, sprint planning, traceability, and project collaboration.
• Exceptional ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into clear, structured, and actionable business artifacts for business and technology stakeholders while minimizing unnecessary technical complexity.
• Strong stakeholder management skills

Good to Have

• Prior experience working with Global Stakeholders
• Experience in large-scale payments transformation programs
• Hands-on exposure to leading Core Banking and Payments platforms, such as Finacle, FIS, TCS BaNCS, or equivalent enterprise banking solutions.
• Experience collaborating with global banking institutions or delivering projects across international markets and geographically distributed teams.
• MBA from a Tier-1 B-School

AI Experience

• Familiarity with AI-assisted requirement analysis, documentation, or process-mapping tools is a plus
• Interest in applying AI-driven insights to payments transformation planning and risk identification

Managerial Experience

• This role does not carry direct people-management responsibility; candidates should demonstrate strong stakeholder management, including experience working with global stakeholders across working groups, governance forums, and steering committees

Operational Experience

• Experience supporting test planning, defect triage, and UAT for payments transformation initiatives
• Experience tracking milestones, managing delivery risks, and escalating variances
• Hands-on experience supporting go-live readiness activities, stage-gate (tollgate) approvals, production deployments, and post-implementation reviews to ensure successful solution adoption and operational stability.
• Proven experience creating, maintaining, and managing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, process documentation, and customer journey artifacts throughout the end-to-end project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline (MBA from a Tier-1 B-School preferred)
• 8+ years of overall professional experience, including a minimum of 2+ years of hands-on Business Analysis experience within the Banking & Financial Services (BFSI) domain, supporting business transformation and technology delivery initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver successful business and technology outcomes.
