Job summary

EXL is seeking a Business Data Analyst in Gurgaon to join a data-focused team. The role requires strong skills in data analysis, mapping and transformations, with experience across Snowflake and relational databases.

You will gather requirements, document BRDs, and ensure data quality and lineage across platforms. The candidate should excel at communicating with business and technical teams, and will contribute to data consolidation, standardization and governance within insurance domain

Qualifications

• 5+ years in large-scale data applications performing data analysis, mapping and transformations.
• Experience in Snowflake and relational DBs; BRD creation and requirements gathering.
• Strong verbal and written communication and tracking skills.
• Proficient in SQL, requirements gathering, and STTM writing.
• Experience with data consolidation, transformation, and standardization.
• Experience with Insurance (Property and Casualty Insurance - P&C) domain, including policy and claims lifecycle.
• Ability to integrate quickly into the team and work independently toward team goals.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between the technical and business teams.
• Should be able to connect with Client SMEs and understand functionality, data.
• Should be able to do Data Profiling - understand data quality and critical data elements; standardize reference and master data across systems.
• Work data mapping, data lineage docs, data models, and design docs for stakeholders to understand mappings and transformations.
