Job summary

Soaring Peaks Capital Services Private Limited is seeking a Business Analyst for its mobile trading app in Mumbai. The role bridges business, compliance, and tech to document requirements, write user stories, and drive timely releases across Android and iOS.

You will coordinate with Product, Technology, and Compliance teams to ensure regulatory alignment, robust testing, and smooth go-lives, while maintaining clear backlog and metrics-driven delivery.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Analyst, preferably on mobile app products.
• Experience in Stock Broking or Financial Services domain is preferred.
• Good understanding of stock market products (Equity, F&O, IPO, Mutual Funds) and trading app workflows.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for the mobile trading app features.
• Prepare BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
• Maintain product backlog and prioritize items with the Technology team.
• Translate business needs into functional specs for core broking journeys like onboarding, login, orders, funds, portfolio, and reports.
• Coordinate with UI/UX designers to review wireframes and flows.
• Ensure agile-delivery with sprint planning and backlog grooming.

We are fast-growing stock broking start-up focused on building a robust and technology-driven trading platform. As part of our growth journey, we are looking to strengthen our Product team to deliver a seamless, secure, and compliant mobile trading experience for our customers.

Role Overview

The Business Analyst - Mobile App will act as the bridge between business, compliance, and the technology team for our trading app on Android and iOS. The role involves gathering and documenting requirements, writing user stories, defining user flows, coordinating with design and engineering teams, and ensuring timely and high-quality releases. The candidate will work closely with the Product, Technology, Compliance, and Operations teams to build a mobile app that is intuitive, reliable, and aligned with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Documentation

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for new features and enhancements in the mobile trading app.
• Prepare BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows in a clear and structured manner.
• Maintain product backlog and requirement traceability, and prioritize items in coordination with the Technology team.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications for core broking journeys such as onboarding, login and authentication, order placement, funds, portfolio, and reports.
• Coordinate with UI/UX designers to review wireframes, prototypes, and mobile user flows.
• Analyze user feedback, app store reviews, and usage data to identify improvement opportunities.

Stakeholder Coordination & Delivery

• Work closely with developers, QA, and design teams across Android and iOS to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered on time.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and review meetings in an Agile environment.
• Provide regular updates to management on project status, risks, and dependencies.

Testing & Release Management

• Prepare test scenarios and support QA in validating functionality, and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) before every release.
• Track bugs and defects to closure and ensure critical issues are resolved before go-live.
• Support release planning, app store deployments, and post-release monitoring.

Regulatory & Compliance Alignment

• Ensure app features and workflows adhere to SEBI regulations, exchange guidelines, and internal compliance policies.
• Work with the Compliance team to incorporate regulatory circulars and changes into the app on time.
• Support requirements related to KYC, risk disclosures, and audit trails within the app.

Data & Analytics

• Define key metrics and events for tracking app performance, funnel conversion, and customer engagement.
• Use analytics tools to generate insights and support data-driven product decisions.
• Prepare periodic reports and dashboards for the product and management teams.

Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Analyst, preferably on mobile app products.
• Experience in the Stock Broking or Financial Services domain is preferred.
• Good understanding of stock market products (Equity, F&O, IPO, Mutual Funds) and trading app workflows.
• Strong skills in writing BRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria, and in creating process flows and wireframes.
• Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Working knowledge of Figma or similar tools, and analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Firebase, or CleverTap.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and API concepts is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication and coordination skills across Product, Technology, and Compliance teams.
