Job summary

Accenture in Chennai is seeking a Network Systems Engineer to support operation, deployment and improvement of enterprise network services across warehouses, distribution centers and offices. You will work with LAN, WiFi, IPsec VPN and NAC to maintain secure, reliable networks and support change and incident management.

The role requires hands-on experience in enterprise networking, 802.1X NAC and automation, with collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking or network provider operations.
• Expert-level LAN and WiFi knowledge, including switching, VLANs, routing, and site connectivity.
• Experience with IPsec VPN configuration and troubleshooting on Cisco platforms.
• Familiarity with NAC concepts and 802.1X implementations.
• Hands-on automation experience using Python, GitLab, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Experience with management platforms such as ExtremeCloud IQ, Aruba Central, and Cisco products.

Responsibilities

• Support and improve WiFi services in warehouses, distribution centers, and offices.
• Troubleshoot IPsec VPN connections with partners and customers, including NAT/routing.
• Roll out centralized configuration and update management for branch LANs.
• Implement and operate Network Access Control using 802.1X with local IT teams.
• Plan, test, and deploy firmware/config updates following change processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
• Analyze LAN/WiFi/IPsec/NAC incidents and escalate where needed.
• Collaborate with security, infra, and external providers to ensure reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical network services.

As a Network Systems Engineer, you support the operation, implementation, and improvement of enterprise network services across warehouses, distribution centers, and office locations. You work with LAN, WiFi, IPsec VPN, and Network Access Control solutions, help resolve incidents, support rollouts and changes, and contribute to stable and secure network operations in a global environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Network Operations & Engineering


• Support the operation and improvement of enterprise WiFi services across warehouse and office locations.


• Support and troubleshoot IPsec VPN connections to external partners and customers, including routing and NAT topics.


• Assist with the rollout of centralized configuration and update management for branch office LAN environments.


• Support the implementation and daily operation of Network Access Control based on 802.1X together with local IT teams.


• Lifecycle & Change Management


• Plan, test, and deploy firmware and configuration updates for WiFi and LAN hardware following standard change processes.


• Maintain technical documentation such as implementation standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.


• Escalation & Collaboration


• Analyze and resolve LAN, WiFi, IPsec, and NAC incidents, escalating complex topics when required to the vendor support


• Work with security, infrastructure, local IT, and external provider teams to support reliable network services.


• Participate in an on-call rotation for business-critical network services.

Professional & Technical Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking or network provider operations


• Expert-level knowledge of LAN and WiFi technologies, including switching, VLANs, wireless troubleshooting, routing and site connectivity


• Experience with IPsec VPN configuration and troubleshooting, preferably on Cisco Firepower or Cisco ASA platforms


• Hands-on experience with automation or scripting tools such as Python, GitLab, Ansible, or Terraform


• Practical experience with platforms such as ExtremeCloud IQ, HPE Aruba Central, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA, or Aruba ClearPass


• Basic to solid understanding of 802.1X and Network Access Control concepts
