Job summary

Hashlist is seeking a BSW MCU Senior Software Architect to lead the software architecture for Classic AUTOSAR-based ECUs in a hybrid work setting. You will own the architecture, interfaces, and integration strategy across platforms and variants, coordinating with hardware and software teams in a global context.

The role emphasizes SOLID design, real-time constraints, safety standards (ISO 26262), and ASPICE-aligned artefacts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing modular, scalable software architectures for ECUs integrating multiple features.
• SysML/UML architecture modelling with Rhapsody mandatory; PREEvision a plus.
• 5+ years of embedded software architecture for automotive microcontrollers.
• Strong AUTOSAR knowledge (BSW, RTE, MCAL) and related specifications.
• Experience with real-time systems, scheduling, interrupts, and timing analysis.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 (ASIL-B/D) and ASPICE processes.
• Experience with DOORS Next Gen for requirements management.
• Solid knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet gateway basics.

Responsibilities

• Own scalable, modular software architecture for multi-feature MCU-based ECUs.
• Model architecture using SysML/UML and maintain traceability from requirements.
• Define BSW architecture for MCU-based ECUs across AUTOSAR layers and bootloader strategies.
• Architect low-level drivers for MCU peripherals (PWM, DIO, SPI, ADC, CAN-FD, UART, I2C, GPT, WDG).
• Design real-time execution models, scheduling, interrupts, and timing budgets.
• Define startup sequences, fault-recovery, degraded-mode, and power management policies.
• Collaborate with hardware teams on MCU selection, memory layouts, safety, and partitioning.
• Lead integration of BSW modules across AUTOSAR stack (COM, DEM, DCM, PduR, NvM, etc.).
• Deliver ASPICE- and ISO 26262-compliant architecture work products.
• Participate in cross-domain discussions for ECU and SoC/HPC integration.

Job description

We are looking for a BSW MCU Senior Software Architect. You will join the Base Software (BSW) Architecture team of a major OEM, designing the next generation of real-time, safety-critical ECUs based on automotive microcontrollers, and owning the software architecture, interfaces, and integration strategy for Classic AUTOSAR-based ECUs across a next-generation vehicle software platform.

Responsibilities:

• Own scalable, modular software architecture for multi-feature MCU-based ECUs, applying SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean layering so independent features stay decoupled and reusable across platforms and variants
• Model software architecture using SysML/UML (Rhapsody), keeping full requirement-to-architecture traceability
• Define the BSW architecture and requirements for MCU-based ECUs across Classic AUTOSAR layers, MCAL, OS configuration, watchdog, diagnostics, memory, and bootloader strategies
• Architect and specify low-level drivers and hardware-near components for MCU peripherals (PWM, DIO, SPI, ADC, CAN-FD, UART, I2C, GPT, WDG, GPIO)
• Design real-time execution models, including scheduling, interrupt handling, timing budgets, and resource constraints for ASIL-rated control units
• Define ECU start-up sequences, fault-recovery mechanisms, degraded-mode strategies, and power management policies for MCU platforms
• Collaborate with hardware architects on MCU selection, memory layouts, safety mechanisms, and system partitioning
• Lead integration of BSW modules (COM, DEM, DCM, CSM, E2E, NvM, PduR, etc.) ensuring consistency across the AUTOSAR stack
• Drive ASPICE- and ISO 26262-compliant architecture work products, including software architecture documents and requirement specifications
• Participate in cross-domain discussions to ensure seamless integration between MCU ECUs and SoC/HPC domain controllers

Qualifications:

• Proven experience designing modular, scalable software architectures — hands-on application of SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean architecture for ECUs integrating multiple features (not configuration or integration only)
• Proficiency in SysML/UML architecture modelling (Rhapsody mandatory; PREEvision a plus)
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software architecture for automotive microcontrollers
• Strong expertise in Classic AUTOSAR (BSW, RTE, MCAL) and AUTOSAR specifications
• Deep experience with automotive MCU architectures and low-level driver design
• Experience with real-time systems, task scheduling, interrupt design, and timing analysis
• Strong understanding of ISO 26262 (ASIL-B/D) for MCU-based ECUs
• Experience with requirement management tools such as IBM DOORS Next Generation (DNG)
• Solid knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet gateway basics)
• Experience working in ASPICE-aligned development environments
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
