Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Bengaluru is seeking a Brake Control Software Validator to join our team. You will analyze requirements, derive test cases, execute component tests, and validate brake control software.

You’ll work with model-based tools to understand application logic and ensure defect-free software releases. The role requires 3–5 years in software testing, exposure to model-based development tools, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics/automation/mechatronics/CS or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in software testing, preferably in software component testing.
• Hands-on experience with model-based software development tools and understanding of application logic used to generate control software.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into clear test steps and expected results; distinguish defects from test setup issues.
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems, especially railway braking systems, is an advantage.
• Experience with requirements management, defect-tracking, version-control, or test-automation tools.
• Strong written and verbal English communication across locations and teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, execute, and evaluate software component tests and contribute to overall brake control software testing.
• Use model-based development tools to understand application logic behind generated code and assist analysis of software behaviors.
• Investigate unexpected test results, document defects clearly, and collaborate with developers to verify fixes.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and results; prepare reproducible test documentation.
• Assess software changes with the development team and assist in defining regression tests.
• Develop understanding of brake system functionality and pneumatic relations to evaluate tests.
• Contribute ideas to increase test coverage and improve testing efficiency.

You'll make a difference by

• You analyze software requirements and functional specifications and derive structured test cases with clearly defined test steps and expected results.
• You prepare, execute, and evaluate software component tests and contribute to the testing of the overall brake control software.
• You use model-based development tools to understand the application logic behind the generated code and support the analysis of software behaviors.
• You investigate unexpected test results, document defects clearly, and work closely with software developers to clarify findings and verify implemented corrections.
• You ensure traceability between software requirements, test cases, and test results and prepare clear and reproducible test documentation.
• You assess software changes together with the development team and support the definition, selection, and execution of appropriate regression tests.
• You develop an understanding of brake system functionality and pneumatic relationships to evaluate test scenarios and results within their technical context.
• You contribute ideas to increase test coverage, improve test procedures, and enhance the efficiency of recurring testing activities.

Desired Skills

• You have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a comparable technical discipline.
• You have 3 to 5 years of professional experience in software testing, preferably in software component testing, including test case development, test execution, defect analysis, and evaluation of test results.
• Ideally, you have hands‑on experience with model‑based software development tools and can understand the application logic used to generate control software.
• You can translate technical and software requirements into clear test steps and expected results and distinguish software defects from issues related to the test environment or test setup.
• You work systematically and carefully, document your findings consistently, and follow identified issues through to resolution.
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems, particularly railway braking systems, would be an advantage.
• Experience with requirements management, defect‑tracking, version‑control, or test‑automation tools would be beneficial.
• You have good written and verbal communication skills in English and can collaborate effectively with colleagues across locations, functions, and technical disciplines.
