Job summary

Expleo is seeking an experienced BIW Design Engineer to lead design and development of Body Structure from concept through SOP. You will develop master sections, packaging and feasibility studies while ensuring CAD delivery of sheet metal to milestones.

The role requires strong sheet metal manufacturing and body assembly skills, GD&T knowledge, and hands-on PLM experience with Teamcenter and ENOVIA. CATIA V5/V6 proficiency and CAE tool familiarity are essential for design and release processes.

Qualifications

• B.E. degree.
• Strong technical skills in sheet metal manufacturing and body assembly processes.
• Good knowledge of GD&T, sheet metal tolerancing, DFA, and DFM.
• Hands-on experience working with PLM tools such as Teamcenter and ENOVIA.
• Basic understanding of structural analysis and CAE tools/delivery.
• Proficiency in using CATIA V5 & V6 for design and development.
• Experience with ENOVIA PLM for managing product lifecycle and part release.

Responsibilities

• Handle projects related to the design and development of Body Structure (BIW) from concept development to SOP milestone.
• Develop master sections, packaging, and feasibility studies.
• Ensure CAD delivery of sheet metal as per project milestone delivery targets.
• Possess strong technical skills in sheet metal manufacturing and body assembly processes.
• Have good knowledge of GD&T, sheet metal tolerancing, DFA, and DFM.
• Collaborate with Project Lead, Manufacturing, and Supplier Engineering teams for design evolution ensuring feasibility.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders for design convergence.
• Hands-on experience working with PLM tools such as Teamcenter and ENOVIA, and part release knowledge.
• Basic understanding of structural analysis and CAE tools/delivery.
• Provide design solutions based on CAE assessments.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including BOM, drawings, specifications, and design change logs.
• Optimize designs for weight reduction, cost efficiency, and manufacturability without compromising structural integrity and CAE targets.
• Possess problem-solving knowledge and provide design solutions based on CAE assessments.
