The Biomedical Executive/Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical equipment to ensure their safe and effective functioning. The role ensures compliance with NABH standards, minimizes equipment downtime, and supports clinical departments by providing timely technical assistance.
Install, operate, and maintain biomedical equipment used across OPD, IPD, ICU, OT, Radiology, and other departments.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of medical equipment as per schedule.
Maintain equipment history records, service logs, calibration certificates, and breakdown reports.
Coordinate with vendors/engineers for repairs under warranty or annual maintenance contracts (AMCs).
Monitor biomedical consumables, spare parts, and ensure availability as per requirement.
Support staff with equipment handling, training, and troubleshooting.
Ensure biomedical waste management in compliance with hospital policies and statutory regulations.
Participate in internal and external audits (NABH) and ensure documentation readiness.
Prepare and submit monthly biomedical department reports to management.
Report any unsafe equipment usage and ensure patient safety standards are maintained.
Diploma / B.Tech / B.Sc in Biomedical Engineering / Electronics / Medical Technology.
0-2 years of relevant experience (fresher with internship experience can be considered).
Knowledge of medical equipment, preventive maintenance, and calibration processes.
Technical knowledge of biomedical equipment and troubleshooting.
Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
Strong coordination with clinical and non-clinical departments.
Vendor management and negotiation skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle emergency breakdowns.
Awareness of NABH standards and biomedical safety norms.
Team player with problem-solving ability.
