Job summary

Fermbox Bio in Bengaluru is seeking a Research Associate to Senior Research Associate or Scientist to join its bioanalytics and analytical chemistry team. You will perform hands-on analyses, method development, and enzyme assays in a fast-paced lab.

The ideal candidate holds M.Tech/M.Sc./Ph.D. in Chemistry or related fields with extensive experience in HPLC, GC/LC-MS, UV-Vis, and data documentation. Freshers may join as Research Interns.

Qualifications

• M.Tech / M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biophysics, etc with 18 years of relevant experience in bioanalytics, enzyme assays, analytical method development, and related laboratory functions.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience in preparing and analyzing samples using HPLC, GC / GC-MS, LC-MS including standardization of protocols for different analytes. Experience in method development and optimization is preferred.
• Set up and optimize multistep enzymatic reactions at lab scale for high-value molecules with applications in flavors, fragrances, nutraceuticals, and related product categories.
• Perform routine protein estimation assays such as Bradford, BCA, Lowry methods
• Perform metabolite/small molecule analysis using HPLC
• Perform enzyme assays and enzyme kinetics using UV-Vis spectrophotometry.
• Analyze, document, and report experimental data, including preparation of SOPs, reports, and presentations.
• Carry out periodic maintenance and calibration of analytical instruments.
• Operate liquid handling systems for high-throughput screening assays.
• Stronge subject knowledge and basic understanding of laboratory operation
• Maintain project-related documentation in the form of reports, presentations, and technical records, while ensuring team-level compliance.
• Train team members on SOPs, analytical procedures, assay protocols, and data recording practices.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and reasoning skills.
• Work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
