Job Description
This role is part of an engineering consultancy design team in India. A qualified architect supports the technical design of construction projects in various sectors, developing project designs, producing presentation drawings and sketches, and assisting in solving design complexities. The technical architect leads specific aspects of the project and the project team to support the overall effort of completing all phases of the project. The architect reports to the Project Lead or other senior team leaders.
Responsibilities
- The role sits within WSP’s digital innovation team working on a range of groundbreaking projects using new solutions to transform the designing and making of buildings.
- The role involves working on a diverse range of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) projects, defining new solutions around platform approaches across various sectors.
- The successful candidate will help contribute to subassembly strategies, including libraries of subassemblies, using construction and manufacturing software such as Revit and Inventor, in conjunction with client and supply‑chain partners.
- The role requires collaborating with a broad range of WSP engineers and specialists, including MMC and sustainability teams.
Team
- You will be part of the digital innovation team focused on delivering next‑generation solutions to clients.
- You will work on projects geared to DfMA at a programme level where PLM’s and configurators are used to manage content.

We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have
- An architectural or architectural technology degree.
- Membership of a professional institute – RIBA / CIAT.
- Experience delivering complex technical solutions across a wide range of sectors and coordinating off‑site manufacturing solutions.
- An understanding of different technologies and how to exploit these to transform how buildings are delivered.
- A passion for developing next‑generation construction solutions using manufacturing technologies such as Inventor (Inventor experience is preferred but not essential).
Qualifications
- Education: B.Arch/Structures.
- Strong technical design knowledge/skills in UK construction methodology.
- Experience working as part of an architectural design team.
- Excellent conceptual, verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English (oral and written) required.
