Job summary

Cundall Chennai is expanding its APAC DC practice and will represent Chennai as a regional centre for Data Centre projects. The role focuses on coordinating BIM implementation across MEPEF disciplines, leading a team of BIM Engineers and CAD technicians, and delivering high-quality BIM deliverables for large-scale data centre projects.

Demanded are 10+ years in BIM design/management, strong Revit/Navisworks/BIM360 proficiency, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• 10+ years broad experience in design and BIM management on large-scale projects.
• 5+ years consultancy background with Data Centre experience.
• Proficiency on Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD Civil 3D BIM authoring tools.
• Proficiency on Autodesk Navisworks Manage.
• Proficiency on BIM360 Environment.
• Dynamo or Grasshopper scripting tools and Power BI would be added value.
• Knowledge of COBie implementation/delivery and 4D to 7D deliverables to LOD 350.
• MS SharePoint and ACONEX platform experience is a plus.
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate BIM implementation within the MEPEF discipline and support project delivery.
• Coordinate assigned project BIM Engineers/CAD technicians and QA/QC of models and drawings.
• Prepare BIM implementation and deliverables, Model Federation, Clash Detection Reports, BIM QA Plans.
• Prepare BIM execution plans and support Construction Sequencing (4D) and Cost Estimating (5D).
• Attend meetings with client/third parties and assist BIM Leads in navigation throughout BIM Models.
• Upskill existing CAD/BIM staff and provide technical support for BIM tools.

The Role

• Coordinating the overall BIM Implementation within the Mechanical/Electrical/Public Health /ELV (MEPF) Discipline team and support the multidisciplinary projects delivery.

• Coordinating the assigned project BIM Engineers / CAD technicians including input to Quality Assurance and Quality Control of models and drawings.

• Preparationofthe Implementation of Building InformationofManagement (BIM) systems.

• Preparingthe creation of BIM deliverables, Model Federation, Clash Detection Reports, BIM Quality Control Plans, BIM Design Review Procedures, Construction Sequencing (4D) and Cost Estimating (5D), Asset Management BIM Implementation (COBie), e-Specs implementation.

• Attending meetings with client and third parties andassistingthe BIM Leads in presentation and navigation throughout the BIM Models.

• Able toprepare/analysis/implementation of BIM execution plans for BIM deliverables production.

• Configuring andmaintainingthe project common data environment to enable the effective management of engineering design deliverables.

• Planning project BIM deliverables and managing their effective deliveryin accordance withthe project plan and BIM execution plan.

• Coordinating BIM issues with design teams to develop and reinforce standards with the goal of refining the models and BIM deliverables.

• Leading in BIM implementation, standards, modelling workflow & methodologies during project design lifecycle.

• Support quality assurance at project kick-offs and compilation of BIM best practices and lessons learned.

• Integrate leading edge BIM applications including scheduling, cost, asset management, and O&M programs into the BIM models.

• Monitoring and guiding the model advancement andutilizationprocess for future construction.

• Reporting to the BIM Lead and technical team in a structured manner. Minimum content to include BIM Issue Tracker, Model Audit Reports, BIM for Clash Detection results for in-progress and completed conflicts resolution, Status of Model Development.

• Assistwith the upskilling of existing CAD/BIM, engineering & project management staff.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for escalated software functionality issues.

• Support interoperability of BIM authoring and coordination tools with the engineering discipline design, analysis tools. Has experience in training and mentoring other peoples in BIM.

• Has experience in automation, BIM, and Revit API development in different domains.

The Skills

Bachelor's degree in a relevant Mechanical/Electricalwith proventrack recordof successfully undertaken BIM responsibilities withinCSA &MEPF design delivery team with a background inmodeling, datamanagementand knowledge of best practices in BIM. Proven ability and leadership skills to lead,monitorand support a team of BIM Technicians and BIM Modelers as well as supporting MEPF& CSAdesign team members already in use of the BIM authoring solutions.

In addition, you will need:

• Minimum of10years broad experience in design and BIM management on large scale projects. (inclusive but not limited to BIMmodeling, Coordination, collaboration, data management, Quality Assurance and Control) on large scale multi-disciplinary projects within the Middle East region.

• Experience of minimum 5 years in consultancy background with DataCentreexperience is an added advantage.

• Mandatoryproficiencyon Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD Civil 3D BIM authoring tools.
