Exillar, an Ahmedabad-based technology company, is hiring a BI Developer to own end-to-end BI solutions—from requirements gathering and data modeling to dashboard delivery and user enablement.

The role sits at the intersection of data engineering and business analysis, requiring strong SQL skills and storytelling through data. On-site in Ahmedabad, 2+ years of BI experience is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in BI development or a closely related data role.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI including DAX and Power Query.
• Solid command of SQL—complex joins, window functions, aggregations, and query optimization.
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Sound understanding of data warehousing principles (Star/Snowflake schema, fact and dimension tables).
• Ability to independently manage a reporting requirement from brief to delivery.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to explain data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and scorecards using Power BI.
• Engage with internal teams and clients to gather, document, and translate business requirements into BI solutions.
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
• Build and manage semantic data models including relationships, hierarchies, DAX measures, and KPIs.
• Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to ensure reliable, clean, and well-structured data pipelines.
• Perform performance tuning of reports, datasets, and queries to ensure scalability.
• Maintain documentation for dashboards, data definitions, data sources, and business logic.
• Conduct user walkthroughs and provide support for BI tools across teams.
• Proactively identify reporting gaps, data quality issues, and opportunities for improvement.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong BI Developer to join our core delivery team. You will own the end-to-end development of business intelligence solutions -from requirement gathering and data modeling to dashboard delivery and user enablement. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and business analysis, making it ideal for someone who is equally comfortable with SQL and storytelling through data.

• Basic Python skills for data manipulation and automation
• Familiarity with version control (Git) for BI project management
• Exposure to Agile or sprint-based delivery environments
