• 4-6 years of professional experience.
• Proficiency in SQL for complex query development and performance tuning.
• Thorough understanding of relational databases and ER diagrams.
• Hands-on experience designing Power BI semantic models (star schema, DAX).
• Strong VertiPaq/tabular model optimization & large dataset performance tuning.
• Knowledge of Import, DirectQuery, Direct Lake modes and connectivity choices.
• Experience implementing RLS, workspace governance, and deployment pipelines in Power BI.

Role & responsibilities

Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring BI solutions align with business objectives.

• Analyze business requirements and design scalable BI solutions to support decision-making.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present actionable insights.
• Implement data models, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with BI best practices.
• Design and maintain ETL processes, ensuring seamless data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure BI tools align with organizational goals.
• Partner with BI SMEs to align BI solutions with strategic objectives and business context.
• Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams, translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Own the design of Power BI semantic models, including star-schema design, DAX measure architecture, and performance tuning of large datasets.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level BI developers.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize BI application performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks.

Ensure data retrieval processes are streamlined for efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile

Education & Experience

• B. Tech./B.E./M.TECH. /MCA in computer science/applications
• Minimum 4-6 years of professional experience is preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must Have
• Proficiency in SQL for complex query development and performance tuning.
• Must have a thorough understanding of relational databases, be able to create and read Entity Relationship Diagrams
• Deep, hands-on experience designing Power BI semantic models star schema design, relationship management, and complex DAX (time intelligence, iterators, context transition).
• Strong command of VertiPaq/tabular model optimization, including cardinality management, aggregation tables, and query performance tuning for large-scale datasets.
• Solid understanding of Import, DirectQuery, and Direct Lake modes, with the judgment to choose the right connectivity mode based on data volume, latency, and refresh needs.
• Experience implementing row-level security (RLS), workspace/app governance, and deployment pipelines within the Power BI service.

Ability to define and enforce Power BI/Fabric development standards and best practices across a team.

• Experience with Analytics platforms like Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Strong programming skills in Spark SQL / Python for data manipulation and analysis.
• Ability to work independently and deliver quality results across various initiatives.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600).

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of BI tools such as Incorta, Tableau, or similar.
• Experience in Automotive after-market domain.
• Oracle EBS Techno-Functional knowledge (FIN/OM/SCP).
