The 350 available positions are divided between two primary engineering disciplines:
- Probationary Engineer (Electronics): 200 vacancies
- Probationary Engineer (Mechanical): 150 vacancies
Applicants must strictly adhere to the educational qualifications and age limits outlined by Bharat Electronics Limited.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a 4-year B.E, B.Tech, or B.Sc Engineering degree. For the Electronics posts, the degree must be in Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Telecommunication, Communication, or Telecommunication. For Mechanical posts, a degree in Mechanical engineering is mandatory.
General, OBC (NCL), and EWS applicants are required to have secured a First Class in their qualifying degree, whereas SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are eligible with a Pass Class. Furthermore, those holding AMIE / AMIETE / GIETE qualifications in these specific disciplines are also permitted to apply. The official notification explicitly states that dual specialisations and other equivalent disciplines will not be accepted.
Age Limit (As on 1 October 2026): The upper age limit is set at 25 years for General and EWS category candidates. Age relaxations apply under standard government guidelines:

Candidates appointed as Probationary Engineers will join the E-II Grade. The basic pay scale ranges from Rs. 40,000 – 3% – Rs. 1,40,000, bringing the approximate annual CTC to Rs. 13 lakh. In addition to the basic pay, employees will receive various perks under company rules, including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, Medical Reimbursement, and Performance Related Pay.

The recruitment process involves two stages: a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and a personal interview.
