Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking a Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineer to support day-to-day mechanical engineering tasks on offshore oil and gas facilities. You will contribute to the design and review of rotating equipment packages, including pumps, compressors and gas turbines, working with multinational EPC teams.

The role requires 5–10 years of offshore experience, strong knowledge of rotating equipment, and familiarity with international codes and vendor processes.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years offshore Oil & Gas detail engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment principles (pumps, compressors, turbines).
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME, ANSI, API).
• Experience in vendor reviews and technical clarifications in EPC projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineer in day-to-day performance of the work.
• Prepare and check engineering deliverables: specifications, datasheets, RFQs, TBEs for pumps, compressors, gas turbines and other offshore machinery.
• Review vendor offers, prepare technical clarifications, attend bidder meetings, review and approve vendor drawings.
• Detail engineering of packages such as chemical injection, potable water maker, fire water pumps, pedestal cranes, diesel generators.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineer in the day to day performance of the work

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor/Master of Technology - Mechanical
• 5-10 years relevant experience in the offshore Oil & Gas industry with specific experience on Detail Engineering of Rotating Equipment and Packages for Offshore Oil and Gas facilities – Wellhead platforms, Fixed Process Platforms, FPSO topsides modules.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment engineering principles (pumps, compressors, turbines)
• In depth knowledge of International Codes and Standards applicable with the discipline (such as ASTM, ASME, ANSI, API)
• Experience in Material Handling Studies is preferable
• Effective Team player, capable of working with Multi-National EPC and Engineering Companies and possess Good communication skills.
