Essential Qualification as on 25.11.2025

The essential qualifications vary by post, but generally require a First Class in the respective degree.

MT (Electronics/Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Science/Metallurgy/Civil) First Class Bachelor’s Degree (or 5 Year Integrated course) in Engineering or Technology in the respective discipline from a recognized University/Institute.

MT (Chemical) First Class B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering/Technology OR First Class M.Sc (Chemistry) from a recognized University/Institute.

MT (Finance) Pass in Final Examination of ICAI or ICWAI (CMA) OR First Class MBA/Post Graduate Diploma in Finance of 2 years duration.

MT (Human Resources) First Class MBA or equivalent / Post Graduate Diploma / Post Graduate Degree (2 years duration) in HR/PM & IR / Personnel Management / Industrial Relations / Social Science / Social Welfare / Social Work.

Note on “First Class”: This means 60% marks in aggregate for UR/OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates, and 55% marks for SC/ST candidates with respect to posts reserved for that category only.

Management Trainees will be absorbed into Grade-II as Assistant Managers upon successful completion of training.

Annual CTC: The approximate average Cost to Company (CTC) is Rs. 15.55 Lakh per annum upon absorption into Grade-II.

Stipend during Training: MTs will receive a stipend equivalent to the sum of the minimum Basic Pay (Rs. 40,000/-), Dearness Allowance (DA), HRA, and 20% of the minimum Basic Pay towards Perks and Allowances.

Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is also provided to PwBD candidates (10 years), Ex-Servicemen (5 years), and candidates domiciled in J&K during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 (5 years).

Selection Process

The selection for the Management Trainee posts will be based on a two-stage process:

Computer Based Online Test (CBOT): This test carries a weightage of 85%.

Duration & Format: 2 hours, 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Parts: Part I (100 MCQs on the concerned subject/discipline) and Part II (50 MCQs on General Aptitude).

Negative Marking: There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Qualifying Marks: Candidates must score a minimum of 60% in CBOT for UR & EWS, and 50% for reserved categories.

Interview: The Interview carries a weightage of 15%. Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on the CBOT scores in a ratio of 1:10 (post to candidate).
