Job summary

Kinetic Engineering seeks a skilled BMS Hardware Engineer to design and validate BMS schematics, multi-layer PCB layouts, and analog/digital circuits for voltage, current, and temperature sensing. You will work with CAN, SPI, I2C, and RS-485 interfaces and perform debugging, bring-up, and root cause analysis.

The role emphasizes HV safety, EMI/EMC compliance, and collaboration with Charger, VCU, Motor Controller, and Telematics teams, with documentation and testing of EV battery packs.

Qualifications

• BMS hardware design experience with battery packs.
• Experience with CAD tools and PCB layouts.
• HV safety practices and testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and review BMS schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts.
• Develop and validate analog/digital circuits for sensing and battery balancing.
• Work with CAN, SPI, I2C, RS-485 interfaces.
• Hardware debugging, PCB bring-up, validation, and root cause analysis.
• Ensure BMS safety features including pre-charge, fuses, HV protection.
• Support EMI/EMC compliance, PCB manufacturing, and vendor coordination.
• Define BMS system requirements and interface with Charger, VCU, Motor Controller, Telematics.
• Prepare design documentation (Schematics, DVP, DFMEA) and EV battery pack testing.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Design and review BMS schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts.
• Develop and validate analog/digital circuits for voltage, current, temperature sensing, battery balancing, and HV isolation.
• Work with CAN, SPI, I2C, RS-485 communication interfaces.
• Perform hardware debugging, PCB bring-up, validation, and root cause analysis using lab equipment (Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Logic Analyzer).
• Ensure BMS safety features, including contactors, relays, pre-charge circuits, fuses, and HV protection.
• Support EMI/EMC compliance, PCB manufacturing, and vendor coordination.
• Define BMS system requirements and interface with Charger, VCU, Motor Controller, and Telematics.
• Prepare design documentation (Schematics, DVP, DFMEA) and support EV battery pack testing and field issue resolution.

Mandatory Technical Skills
