Job summary

Radisson Hotel Group in Hyderabad is seeking a Bar Manager to lead our bar/lounge operations and drive guest service excellence. You will coach staff, manage inventories, and ensure service standards align with brand expectations.

You will set up the bar area per Radisson standards, optimize scheduling, monitor compliance with safety and liquor regulations, and deliver the Yes I Can hospitality that defines our culture.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of Bar Manager experience within a similar environment.
• Diploma/degree in hotel management.
• Strong leadership and guest service focus.
• Knowledge of local liquor laws and regulations.
• Able to supervise bar staff and manage inventories.

Develops and implements strategies to achieve revenue and profit goals

• Participates in the development of the marketing plan for the bar/lounge by keeping current on competitors on a regular basis
• Develops and implements special promotions and employee incentives
• Provides employees with current up-to-date information on drink specials and menu items
• Increases sales by coaching employees on effective sales techniques
• Maximizes productivity by using forecasting techniques to adjust scheduling

Manages the operation of bar/lounge

• Coordinates the set up of bar/lounge area in accordance with Radisson Hotel standards
• Manages the food and beverage service provided in assigned bar/lounge; coaches employees on effective service techniques
• Inspects bar/lounge area on an on-going basis and takes appropriate steps to ensure facilities meet or exceeds the hotel’s standards at all times
• Leads staff meetings
• Assists in quarterly inventories
• Properly executes check control procedures
• Maintains sanitary and safe work environment for guests and employees

Develops and implements strategies and practices which support employee engagement

• Recruits and selects qualified candidates
• Provides employees with the orientation and training needed to understand expectations and perform job responsibilities
• Communicates performance expectations and provides employees with on-going feedback
• Provides employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential

Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Yes I Can! experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of, genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations

• Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service
• Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems
• Provides Yes I Can! genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis
• Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction
• Performs other duties required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality

Adheres to hotel policies and procedures

• Attends work on time and as scheduled
• Follows hotel grooming and hygiene standards
• Minimise safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures
• Keeps Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position
• Maintains a favourable working relationship with all other hotel employees to foster and promote a co-operative and harmonious working environment
• At all times projects a favourable image of the Hotel to the public

• A minimum of 2 years of Bar Manager experience within a similar environment.
• A forward thinking and motivated attitude
• Excellent managerial skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style.
• Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry.
• Able to resolve conflicts guests, supervisor and employee
• Knowledge of local liquor laws and regulations
• Strong floor presence with focus and energy
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite

• Diploma/degree in hotel management.
