Job summary

Proofpoint in Hyderabad, India is seeking a Backend Engineer to build scalable, production-grade systems in Go. You will contribute to microservices powering core product features and gain hands-on experience with modern backend architectures.

This role suits someone who enjoys building efficient systems, solving performance challenges, and collaborating across product and infrastructure teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with Go or willingness to learn it quickly.
• Understanding of backend fundamentals (APIs, databases, concurrency, networking).
• Contribute to system design discussions and technical decisions.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture or distributed systems concepts.

• Develop and maintain microservices using Golang
• Contribute to API design and service-to-service communication
• Debug and resolve issues across distributed systems
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code
• Collaborate with engineers across product and infrastructure teams

Required Qualifications
