Job summary

Poonam IT Consulting Services is seeking a Backend Developer - Java with 6-15 years of experience for challenging work across Pune, Hyderabad, and other locations in India. You will architect and implement backend microservices, optimize database access, and ensure robust API design using Spring Boot and related technologies.

Candidates should be proficient in Java 8+, Spring ecosystem, microservices patterns, and cloud deployments (AWS/Azure).

Qualifications

• 6–15 years of backend Java experience.
• Proficient in Core Java (8+) and Spring Boot ecosystem.

Key Technical Skills:

Java & Spring Boot Ecosystem:

• Deep understanding of Core Java (Java 8+), including Functional Interfaces, Streams API, Lambda Expressions, and Exception handling.
• Advanced experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Core, and Spring Data.
• Strong knowledge of dependency injection, transaction propagation, and data validation.

Microservices Architecture:

• Experience building and scaling cloud-native, distributed Microservices.
• Mastery of microservices patterns like Service Discovery (Netflix Eureka), API Gateways, and Circuit Breakers (Resilience4j).
• Hands-on implementation of event-driven messaging systems like Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Building secure, high-performance RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.

Database & Persistence:

• Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, joins (including self-joins), and stored procedures.
• Strong skills in Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks like Hibernate and JPA.
• Experience working with RDBMS platforms like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.

Cloud & DevOps (Highly Preferred):

• Deploying and managing services on cloud environments like AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB) or Microsoft Azure.
• Containerization using Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes.
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Develop: Architect and code end-to-end backend microservices keeping performance, scalability, and security in mind.
• Database Management: Write well-indexed, optimized database queries and handle relational mappings seamlessly.
• Testing: Ensure strict code quality standards by writing comprehensive unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
• Troubleshoot: Debug, trace, and fix production roadblocks, application performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.
