Job summary

Goodfit is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build scalable backend services for the BuildPiper product. You will design and implement REST APIs and backend workflows using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework, while optimizing MySQL and Redis/Celery-based processing.

You will participate in system design, code reviews, and DevOps tasks, including CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes, with a focus on performance, reliability and scalable architecture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Django and REST APIs.
• Experience with MySQL databases and query optimization.
• Background in Redis, Celery and asynchronous processing.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into backend systems.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Python, Django, Django REST Framework, MySQL, Redis/Celery, and AI/LLM integration to build scalable backend services for the BuildPiper product.

Experience: 3+ years

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Python, Django and Django REST Framework.
• Build and optimize REST APIs and backend workflows.
• Develop clean, reusable and maintainable code.
• Participate in system design, code reviews and technical discussions.

Database & Performance

• Work with MySQL for database design and optimization.
• Optimize queries, indexes and transactions.
• Troubleshoot performance and scalability issues.
• Work with Redis, Celery and background processing.
• Develop asynchronous and distributed workflows.
• Implement reliable job processing and error handling.

AI / LLM Integration

• Develop and integrate AI/LLM-powered features.
• Work with LLM APIs, Prompt Engineering, RAG, Embeddings and AI Agents.
• Integrate AI capabilities into backend applications and workflows.

DevOps & Cloud

• Work with CI/CD pipelines covering build, testing, security scanning and deployment.
• Experience with Git, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams for application deployment and production support.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Improve application performance, scalability and reliability.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices.

Required Skills
