We are looking for an experienced Python/Django Backend Developer to design, build, and scale the backend systems that power our product ecosystem. This role requires strong ownership of architectural decisions, hands‑on coding experience across multiple frameworks, and the ability to guide the team through planning, code reviews, and technical execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python, Django, Django REST Framework (DRF), and FastAPI.
• Architect and manage relational databases (PostgreSQL and MySQL), including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and database lock management.
• Reliably handle high-throughput, concurrent database read/write operations.
• Implement caching strategies using Redis.
• Build and manage background and asynchronous workflows using Celery and Celery Beat.
• Work with Kafka for cross-application and event-driven messaging.
• Implement real-time features using WebSockets, Django Channels, and native WebSocket support in FastAPI.
• Plan and design microservices, modular monolithic, and monolithic architectures based on project requirements.
• Own API design and planning, including versioning and contract design.
• Deploy and manage services using Gunicorn/Uvicorn and Nginx.
• Apply strong OOP principles, data structures and algorithms, and problem‑solving skills to write efficient and maintainable code.
• Write unit and integration tests, and debug and resolve production issues.
• Work with ORMs and demonstrate a working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database concepts.
• Maintain code quality using pre‑commit hooks and SonarQube.
• Use Git for version control and follow Agile/Scrum practices.
• Document APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Set up and monitor systems using tools such as the ELK Stack, Grafana, and Sentry.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization using JWT and OAuth2.
• Containerize and orchestrate services using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Plan, divide, and prioritize work across the team; conduct code reviews; and guide junior and mid-level developers.
