Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Hyderabad seeks a seasoned Linux Administrator with 8-12 years of hands-on experience to manage Linux server estates, both physical and virtual, and to ensure patching, hardening, and compliant configurations.

You will handle L2/L3 incidents, automate regular tasks with shell scripting or Ansible, manage LVM, NFS, Samba, NTP, and contribute to cloud deployment and 24x7 support operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8–12 years of experience in Linux server administration.
• Experience installing, upgrading and configuring Red Hat Linux on physical and virtual servers.
• Proficiency in shell scripting and automation (Ansible).
• Knowledge of LVM, Samba, NFS, NTP and server hardening.
• Ability to work in 24x7 support environments and adhere to SLA.

Responsibilities

• Handle L2 and L3 Linux server issues.
• Install, upgrade and configure Red Hat Linux (6.x/7.x) on physical and virtual servers.
• Develop shell scripts to automate regular tasks.
• Configure and administer LVM, Samba, NFS, NTP, Centrify and proxy services.
• Adhere to SLA and manage incidents and changes.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure and network performance.
• Manage cloud services, incidents, problems, and SLA.
• Support existing and new applications in public cloud.
• Implement and maintain security policies and regulatory guidelines (server hardening).
• Create new VM, set up applications, and ensure security compliance.
• Manage cloud assets and resources.
• Execute cloud DR setup and drills.
• Handle third-party software and tools.
• Develop shell scripts - bash/Ansible scripting.
