Job summary

Alike Thoughts is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer (Azure) to monitor and secure Azure environments. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining Azure infra with IaC, optimizing CI/CD pipelines for secure deployments, and driving policy-based governance using Azure Policies and Defender for Cloud.

The role requires hands-on experience with Terraform/ARM templates, Azure DevOps, and security-focused collaboration across teams to ensure least-privilege access and robust cloud security

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Strong background with Azure Policies and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
• Understanding of general cloud security principles and Azure governance concepts.
• Hands-on experience or exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or ARM templates).
• Familiar with CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and automated deployment practices; strong troubleshooting and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day operations, administration, and troubleshooting of Azure environments for reliability, performance, and security.
• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) to automate infra deployments and security configurations.
• Assist with cloud security and compliance initiatives, remediation activities, and security best practices.
• Develop, review, and maintain Azure Policies and compliance initiatives.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Support the day- to-day operations monitoring administration and troubleshooting of Azure environments to ensure platform reliability performance and security .


• Design deploy and maintain Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code IaC tools such as Terraform .


• Support and enhance CICD pipelines Azure DevOps GitHub Actions or similar to automate deployment of infrastructure and security configurations across environments.


• Support cloud security and compliance initiatives by assisting with security remediation activities resolving configuration issues and implementing security best practices.


• Develop review and maintain Azure Policies and compliance initiatives


• Support configuration and monitoring within Microsoft Defender for Cloud


• Support RBAC RoleBased Access Control tasks such as role assignments and access reviews Help ensure access follows least privilege principles in the environment.


• Monitor security recommendations s and remediation activities across Azure resources.Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to improve cloud security best practices


• Participate in vulnerability management access reviews and security assessments. Document security configurations standards and operational procedures

Qualifications

• 5- 8 years of experience working with Microsoft Azure.


• Strong background with Azure Policies and Microsoft Defender for Cloud


• Understanding of general cloud security principles and Azure governance concepts


• Handson experience or exposure to Infrastructure as Code Terraform or ARM templates


• Familiarity with CICD pipeline tooling Azure DevOps GitHub Actions or similar and automated deployment practices . Strong troubleshooting communication and teamwork skills

Preferred

• Experience working with Microsoft Defender for Cloud Azure Policies and IaC Terraform


• Solid background supporting and administering Azure infrastructure environments and core cloud services. Azure certifications such as AZ104 or SC900 are a plus.
