Job summary

Freelancer is seeking a Platform Security / Cloud Security Engineer to design and secure Azure cloud environments, implement policy controls, and automate security across CI/CD pipelines. The role focuses on governance, guardrails, and secure-by-default infrastructure in enterprise Azure deployments.

The candidate will work in a hybrid setup (Bangalore or Gurgaon) with 3 days in office, handling security automation, Defender for Cloud, and secret management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are looking for a strong Platform Security / Cloud Security Engineer with hands-on experience in Azure, DevSecOps, CI/CD, Terraform, cloud governance, security automation, and platform security controls.

The candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing secure cloud platforms, security guardrails, governance policies, infrastructure security, and DevSecOps practices across enterprise Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure Azure cloud platform environments.
• Implement Azure Policy, RBAC, governance controls, landing zones, and security guardrails.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
• Implement security checks and controls within CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop, modify, and maintain reusable Terraform modules for infrastructure provisioning.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code security and compliance practices.
• Work on cloud security posture management and remediation activities.
• Monitor and improve Microsoft Defender for Cloud Secure Score.
• Implement and manage Azure Firewall and cloud network security controls.
• Work with Microsoft Sentinel, logging, monitoring, and security incident visibility.
• Implement secure secrets and credential management using Azure Key Vault.
• Support Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and Just-In-Time privileged access.
• Implement shift-left security practices across the software development lifecycle.
• Identify and remediate cloud configuration, infrastructure, and application security risks.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Application, and Security teams to implement secure-by-default solutions.
