Job summary

Apex Group in Mumbai seeks an experienced Senior Cloud Administrator (Azure & AWS) to design, deploy, and manage multi-cloud infrastructure. You will drive architecture, automation, security, and cost optimization to ensure reliability and scalability across Azure and AWS.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in cloud administration, strong IAM and networking skills, IaC proficiency, and experience with security and compliance frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 10+ years of cloud administration experience with Azure and AWS.
• Experience managing enterprise-scale multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
• Strong networking knowledge (VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, firewalls, VPN, DNS).
• Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation.
• Scripting proficiency: PowerShell, Bash, Python.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS/EKS).
• Familiarity with security best practices and compliance.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Administrator to design, deploy, and manage our multi-cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in cloud architecture, automation, security, and cost optimization, and will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures
• Manage identity and access management (IAM/Azure AD) including RBAC, SSO, and MFA policies
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity using tools like Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, and third-party solutions
• Manage virtual networks, VPNs, load balancers, and hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute, Direct Connect)
• Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
• Manage cloud security posture: patching, vulnerability management, and compliance (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.)
• Optimize cloud spend through rightsizing, reserved instances, and cost governance
• Administer storage solutions (Azure Blob/Files, AWS S3/EBS/EFS)
• Support CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment automation
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and connectivity issues
• Maintain documentation for architecture, processes, and runbooks
• Mentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance across teams
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 10+ years of experience in cloud administration, with strong hands-on exposure to both Azure and AWS
• Proven experience managing enterprise-scale, multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments
• Strong knowledge of networking (VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, firewalls, VPN, DNS)
• Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation
• Scripting proficiency: PowerShell, Bash, Python
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS/EKS)
• Solid understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, Log Analytics, Datadog, etc.)
• Familiarity with backup/DR tools (Azure Site Recovery, AWS Backup)

Technical Skill sets Required:

Azure IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) Deploy and manage Azure Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets, Availability Sets/Zones. Configure and manage Virtual Networks (VNet), subnets, VNet peering, NSGs, UDRs, and Azure Firewall. Implement Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, and Traffic Manager for high availability and traffic distribution. Manage Azure Storage (Blob, File, Disk, Queue, Table) including redundancy options (LRS/ZRS/GRS/RA-GRS). Configure ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, and Site-to-Site/Point-to-Site VPNs for hybrid connectivity. Manage disk encryption, backup (Azure Backup), and disaster recovery (Azure Site Recovery).

Azure PaaS (Platform as a Service) Deploy and manage App Services, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps for application hosting and automation. Administer Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and Azure Database for PostgreSQL/MySQL. Configure Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Container Instances/Registry for containerized workloads. Manage API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, and Event Hub for integration and messaging architectures. Implement Azure Data Factory pipelines and manage PaaS-based data platforms as needed. Configure autoscaling, deployment slots, and CI/CD integration for PaaS resources.

Azure Security Implementation Implement Azure Active Directory (Entra ID): Conditional Access, MFA, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and RBAC. Configure Azure Security Center / Microsoft Defender for Cloud for posture management and threat protection. Manage Key Vault for secrets, certificates, and encryption key lifecycle management. Design and enforce Network Security Groups, Azure Front Door, Azure Firewall, WAF, and DDoS Protection. Apply Azure Policy and Blueprints for governance, compliance, and guardrails across subscriptions. Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation using Defender Vulnerability Management. Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, or industry-specific mandates.

AWS Administration Manage EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudFront, and Route 53. Implement AWS security best practices: IAM policies, Security Groups, GuardDuty, AWS Config, and CloudTrail. Configure AWS Organizations, SCPs, and multi-account governance. Manage backup/DR strategies using AWS Backup and cross-region replication. Monitor infrastructure using CloudWatch and optimize costs via Cost Explorer / Trusted Advisor.

Automation & DevOps Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM/Bicep templates, or CloudFormation. Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, AWS CLI, and Python/Bash scripting. Integrate cloud deployments with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins). Implement configuration management using Ansible or similar tools.

Monitoring, Cost & Compliance Set up monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and AWS CloudWatch. Perform cost optimization across both platforms (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, right-sizing). Maintain tagging strategies, budgets, and chargeback/showback reporting. Support audits and ensure adherence to internal security and compliance policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, or equivalent
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Experience with cost management tools (Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer)
• Knowledge of ITIL processes
• Soft Skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
