Job summary

Fulcrum Digital seeks a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and operate scalable AWS infrastructure. You will lead CI/CD, IaC, and observability efforts, mentoring engineers and partnering with architecture, development, and security teams to improve reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

You will architect end-to-end AWS solutions, implement secure configurations, and drive best practices across mission-critical environments. Strong collaboration and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on DevOps/cloud engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda).
• Proven track record designing and scaling CI/CD pipelines in production.

Responsibilities

• Architect AWS infrastructure end-to-end using AWS CDK and reusable modules.
• Design, build, and improve CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline).
• Lead container strategy with Kubernetes (EKS) or ECS, including cluster design and upgrades.
• Define observability standards using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
• Embed security/compliance into platform: IAM, VPC segmentation, encryption, secrets management.
• Own cloud cost optimization and capacity planning across accounts.
• Establish DevOps best practices and GitOps workflows, mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with leadership on platform roadmap and tech decisions.

AWS DevOps / CICD Engineer Role Summary We are seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to lead the design, automation, and operation of large-scale, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS. In this role you will set the technical direction for CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and observability, mentor junior engineers, and partner with architecture, development, and security teams to drive reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency across mission‑critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect AWS infrastructure end-to-end using (AWS CDK), establishing reusable modules and standards.
• Design, build, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild/CodeDeploy.
• Lead container strategy and orchestration with Kubernetes (EKS) or ECS, including cluster design, scaling, and upgrade management.
• Define and implement observability standards — monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting — using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, the ELK stack, or Datadog.
• Embed security and compliance into the platform: IAM governance, network segmentation (VPC), encryption, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Own cloud cost optimisation, capacity planning, and performance tuning across accounts and environments.
• Establish and champion DevOps best practices, automation standards, and GitOps workflows across teams.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, and contribute to hiring and technical reviews.
• Collaborate with architecture and engineering leadership on platform roadmap and technology decisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands‑on DevOps/cloud engineering experience, with deep expertise in AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, Route 53, ELB, CloudFront, EKS/ECS).
• Proven track record designing and scaling CI/CD pipelines in production.
• Strong experience with Docker and container orchestration at scale (Kubernetes/EKS or ECS).
• Advanced scripting/automation skills in Python and Bash.
• Deep understanding of networking, Linux system administration, and cloud security architecture.
• Demonstrated experience with monitoring/observability tooling.
• Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, or AWS Solutions Architect – Professional.
• Exposure to compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI‑DSS, HIPAA) and regulated/enterprise‑scale environments.
• Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
