Job summary

Valor PayTech is seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer to lead and manage AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in DevOps and Cloud Engineering, with a strong focus on Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD implementations.

You will design secure cloud architectures and mentor engineers while driving automation and operational excellence. A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred, along with experience in FinTech environments.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM.
• Proven experience designing and managing large-scale CI/CD pipelines.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage secure, scalable, and highly available AWS infrastructure.
• Define cloud architecture standards, governance, cost optimization, and reliability best practices.
• Lead cloud modernization and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
• Establish and enforce DevOps standards, processes, and operational excellence across environments.
• Mentor and guide DevOps engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.

Infrastructure Automation CI/CD

• Lead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Drive automation across provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and scaling processes.
• Architect, implement, and optimize enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or equivalent tools.
• Improve deployment reliability, release management, and rollback strategies.

Reliability, Security Observability

• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
• Drive SRE practices including incident management, root cause analysis, SLIs, and SLOs.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Implement security best practices including IAM, KMS, secrets management, and DevSecOps controls.
• Partner with security teams to ensure compliance and governance requirements are met.

Collaboration Technical Advisory

• Translate business and product requirements into scalable, secure, and reliable technical solutions.
• Work closely with Engineering, QA, Product, and Infrastructure teams to streamline delivery and deployment processes.
• Act as a trusted advisor on infrastructure, cloud, and deployment strategies.
• Influence technology and architecture decisions across the organization.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, KMS, RDS, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
• Proven experience designing and managing large-scale CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and container orchestration — Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, or equivalent.
• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL/CentOS).
• Advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and distributed system architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in FinTech, Payments, Banking, or other regulated environments.
• Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures.
• Experience with artifact repositories such as Nexus or Artifactory.
• Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization practices.
• AWS Professional-level certifications are highly desirable.
