Job summary

Talent Leads Consultants in Mumbai seeks an AVP - Underwriting to lead the corporate office team of underwriters and drive risk assessment excellence.

You will ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, IRDA/GIC rules, and rigorous data/audit records, while collaborating with senior leadership to optimize top and bottom line performance.

Ideal candidate has 10+ years in property and engineering underwriting, with proven people-management experience and strong MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in a relevant field (Engineer or MBA preferred).
• Strong command of MS Office tools and data analysis.
• Proven ability to lead and develop underwriting teams.

Responsibilities

• Meet targets with optimal top and bottom line mix.
• Lead the underwriting team at corporate office Mumbai and branches.
• Manage referrals for property and engineering lines of business.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and delegated authority.
• Ensure compliance with IRDA, GIC and other regulations.
• Record and maintain files and data for audits.

Key Responsibilities

• Make sure that the targets are met including the perfect mix of top and bottom line.
• Manage the team of underwriters in corporate office and branches
• Manage the referrals for property and engineering LOB
• Ensure adherence to Underwriting Guidelines and delegated authority
• Ensure compliance of various guidelines and rules set by IRDA, GIC etc.
• Ensure recording and file management of proposals and various data for audit.

Candidate Profile

• Postgraduate from renowned college / university (Engineer / MBA is preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of experience in property and engineering underwriting
