Crescendo Global is partnering with a leading General Insurance company to hire a Property Underwriter with 5+ years of experience for Mumbai operations. The role focuses on Property & Engineering underwriting, risk assessment, and referral management, with responsibility to drive profitable underwriting and manage a team.

You will lead underwriters across corporate office and branches, ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory rules, and mentor staff while handling delegated

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification from a reputed college/university; Engineering or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Property & Engineering Underwriting.
• Strong technical knowledge of Property & Engineering Underwriting.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Drive underwriting targets while maintaining the right balance between top-line and bottom-line performance.
• Manage and lead the team of underwriters across the corporate office and branches.
• Manage referrals for Property and Engineering Lines of Business (LOB).
• Ensure adherence to Underwriting Guidelines and Delegated Authority.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IRDA, GIC, and other regulatory guidelines and rules.
• Ensure proper recording and file management of proposals and underwriting data for audit purposes.
