Job summary

Highland Capital Brokerage is seeking an AVP, Associate Chief Underwriter to lead high-level life insurance underwriting and long-term care expertise. Responsibilities include ordering medical records, summarizing histories, evaluating cases, and negotiating offers with carriers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years life insurance experience.

Responsibilities

Life & Health Insurance License Responsibilities

Basic Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years Life reputed company experience.
• Prior Life Insurance Brokerage or Life Insurance Company experience.
• Possess a reputed company-versed knowledge of medical terminology, medicine, medical science and symptomology, non- medical and financial risk selection methodologies, MIB, reputed company and regulatory limitations, contractual provisions, products, morbidity and mortality, reputed company guidelines and manual operations system.
• Strong critical thinking and decision- making skills; attention to detail with the ability to quickly identify information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances of events.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), team building, strong interpersonal and customer engagement, and negotiation skills.
• Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve reputed company across reputed company, department and/or business unit for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Maintains knowledge on reputed company and emerging developments/industry trends.
• Collaborates with UW leadership to evaluate new trends and developments for possible reputed company and reputed company solutions.
