Job summary

IG Defence is seeking an Avionics Engineer Intern to contribute to the design of flight-electronics and embedded systems. You will work on complete avionics architecture, develop custom PCBs, and integrate sensors such as IMU, GNSS, and RF modules for flight-critical applications.

The role emphasizes robust power distribution, EMI/EMC resilience, secure communications, and collaboration with GNC, propulsion, and mechanical teams across hardware and firmware layers.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience with embedded systems (C/C++).
• Experience integrating sensors (IMU, GNSS, RF modules).
• Understanding of real-time systems and hardware–software interaction.
• Ability to debug at hardware and firmware levels.

Avionics Engineer – Flight Electronics & Embedded Systems

Selected Intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Design complete avionics architecture (power + computing + communication)
• Develop custom PCBs for flight-critical systems
• Integrate IMU, GNSS, RF modules, telemetry systems
• Build robust power distribution & battery systems
• Ensure EMI/EMC resilience and noise isolation
• Work on secure and reliable communication links
• Interface closely with GNC, propulsion, and mechanical teams

Support flight testing, debugging, and rapid iteration

Responsibilities

• Ability to debug at both hardware and firmware levels

Nice to Have

• Experience with Pixhawk / Cube Orange / custom flight controllers
• Knowledge of RF systems, telemetry, and anti-jamming techniques
• Experience with defence-grade electronics or rugged systems
• Built and flown UAVs / rockets / high-speed platforms
