Ethereal Exploration Guild in India invites an experienced Avionics Software Engineer to join our flight software team. You will design, develop and verify high-reliability software for avionics and launch vehicle systems using C/C++, Linux, FreeRTOS and RT-Linux on embedded platforms.
You will collaborate with GNC, propulsion and systems teams to create deterministic, fault-tolerant software, develop SIL/PIL/HIL environments and drive rigorous testing and verification for aerospace applications.
Founded in 2022, Ethereal Exploration Guild (The Guild) is building the World’s First Fully Reusable Medium-Lift Launch Vehicle/Rocket, Razor Crest Mk-1(RCM1).
Based in India, the team has a combined flight heritage of over 75 launches from the PSLV and GSLV fleets, and more than 300 years of collective experience in the space industry. The Guild is also developing a 700,000 sq ft facility dedicated to Upper Stage Engine Testing, which is going to be India’s largest privately developed Engine Testing Facility.
The Guild has also built and manufactured India’s First Reusable Rocket Engine.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join the Hands of the Guild as a Avionics Software Engineer.
Job-Type: On-site, Monday - Saturday
We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Software Engineer with over 3 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems, real-time software, and mission-critical aerospace applications to join our avionics and flight software team. The engineer will be responsible for the design, development, integration, debugging, and verification of high-reliability software for advanced aerospace and launch vehicle systems. The role involves developing C/C++ application software, embedded software, Linux and RT-Linux applications, device drivers, hardware abstraction layers, communication interfaces, real-time sequencing and control logic, health monitoring, fault detection and handling, and mission-critical software infrastructure. The candidate will work closely with GNC, avionics hardware, propulsion, systems engineering, and vehicle integration teams to develop robust, deterministic, and fault-tolerant software capable of operating reliably in demanding aerospace environments.
Strong practical experience with real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS and RT-Linux, embedded Linux, multi-threaded applications, interrupt-driven systems, inter-process communication, hardware interfaces, and deterministic execution is expected. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working close to the hardware and debugging complex hardware-software interactions across a range of microprocessors, microcontrollers, embedded computing platforms, and custom avionics systems, with a strong focus on software reliability, verification, performance, and operational robustness.
