Job summary

Tech Mahindra is seeking an Automotive Embedded Software Integration Test Engineer in Pune with 3-5 years of hands-on testing experience. The role emphasizes SIT, requirement-based testing, and automation using CANoe, CAPL, and dSPACE tools to validate embedded software interfaces.

You will develop and execute test cases, analyze requirements, and collaborate with development teams to resolve defects, ensuring compliance with ASPICE and quality processes. Strong scripting in Python is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in Automotive Software Testing.
• Strong experience in Software Testing, Software Integration Testing (SIT), Test Case Development and Execution, and Requirement-Based Testing.
• Hands-on experience with CANoe, CAPL Scripting, dSPACE AutomationDesk, dSPACE ControlDesk.
• Experience with IBM DOORS and PTC Integrity/Windchill (or equivalent ALM tools).
• Knowledge of Python scripting for test automation.
• Ability to understand and analyze embedded C code.
• Experience with Git/GitLab version control systems.
• Working knowledge of WinIDEA, Eclipse, and DaVinci Tools.
• Experience in defect management, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Knowledge of automotive CAN protocols.

Responsibilities

Software Testing & Validation

• Analyze software requirements, software architecture, and design specifications to derive comprehensive test scenarios.
• Develop, review, and execute software test cases and test procedures.
• Perform Software Testing, Software Integration Testing (SIT), Functional Testing, and Regression Testing.
• Verify software functionality against software and system requirements.
• Perform defect analysis, root-cause investigation, and issue tracking.
• Generate test reports and support release readiness assessments.

Test Case Development & Requirements Traceability

• Create and maintain requirement-based test specifications and test cases.
• Ensure complete bidirectional traceability between requirements and test cases.
• Perform test coverage analysis and verification status tracking.
• Manage and review requirements using:
  • IBM DOORS
  • PTC (Integrity/Windchill or equivalent ALM tools)
• Conduct impact analysis for requirement changes and software updates.
• Support compliance with ASPICE and project quality processes.

Software Integration Testing

• Perform Software Integration Testing (SIT) for embedded automotive software.
• Validate interfaces and interactions between software modules.
• Verify communication stacks, application software, and integrated functionalities.
• Support troubleshooting and defect isolation during integration phases.
• Work closely with development teams to resolve software integration issues.

Test Automation & Scripting

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using:
  • CANoe
  • CAPL
  • dSPACE AutomationDesk
  • dSPACE ControlDesk
• Develop automation solutions using Python.
• Support automated regression test execution and reporting.
• Improve test efficiency through automation and continuous integration practices.

Development & Debugging Support

• Read, understand, and analyze embedded software implemented in C.
• Support debugging and troubleshooting software issues.
• Use development and debugging tools including:
  • WinIDEA
  • Eclipse
  • DaVinci Configurator/Developer
• Collaborate with software developers to investigate and resolve defects.

Configuration & Version Control

• Utilize Git/GitLab for source code and test artifact management.
• Maintain software and test baselines.
• Support branch management, merge reviews, and release traceability.
• Ensure proper version control of test automation scripts and test assets.
