Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer I (SDET-Java, Selenium, API) to join our WPG Billing and Invoicing team in Pune.

You will design and implement automation frameworks from scratch, drive testing strategy, and build robust UI and API test suites in a fast-paced, global payments environment. The role requires hands-on experience with Selenium, API testing tools, Java, and a strong emphasis on quality, collaboration, and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in test automation.
• In-depth knowledge and experience of automation frameworks for UI (Selenium) and API (SoapUI, Postman, Rest Assured or Karate) using Core Java.
• Experience in an AWS/microservices environment/testing.
• Collaborate with QA/Dev teams to automate UI and API test cases.
• Good knowledge of Payment Domain.
• Strong knowledge of Core Java (Java 8+).
• Experience in creating frameworks for UI and API automation.
• Good experience with BDD Agile methodologies and Cucumber-based projects.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks like JUnit/TestNG.
• End-to-end automation experience from Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins.
• Agile project exposure; ability to summarize complex tech details for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automation framework from scratch using page object model with data-driven approaches.
• Define testing strategy and approach for QA activities.
• Write and execute automated test scripts for UI and API.
• Write and execute manual functional test cases.
• Report defects and maintain traceability with Jira.
• Collaborate with stakeholders; demonstrate QA outcomes and drive quality improvement initiatives.

• Good exposure to Agile based project
• Comfortable in designing and implementing automation test scripts based on the requirements
• Knowledge of test management tools and systems – such as JIRA, Rally Confluence
• Good Knowledge of handling stakeholder or cross‑functional testing teams
• Ability to summarize / present technical information in a manner that others can understand
