Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Software Engineer I (SDET-Java, Selenium, API) to join the WPG Billing and Invoicing team. You will design automation frameworks, define testing strategies, and write automated and manual tests in a Java-based environment.

You will collaborate with QA/Dev teams, report defects in Jira, and showcase leadership in quality improvements across initiatives. Experience with AWS/microservices and payment domain is valued.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years hands-on test automation experience.
• Deep knowledge of UI (Selenium) and API (SoapUI, Postman, Rest Assured or Karate) frameworks using Core Java.
• Experience in AWS/microservices environment testing.
• Collaborates with QA/Dev teams to automate UI and API tests; familiar with Jira.

What you’ll own

• Design/Work with automation framework from scratch--Page object model design pattern with data driven framework
• Design Testing strategy and define the approach.
• Write and execute Automation test scripts.
• Write and execute manual functional test cases
• Report defects and traceability with tools like Jira.
• Collaborate with the stakeholders and give the demo
• Showcase leadership qualities, proactive and ready to work on different initiatives related to Quality Improvement

What you’ll bring

• 2-4 years of hands‑on experience in test automation
• in depth knowledge & experience of automation frameworks of UI (Selenium) and API (Soap UI, Postman, Rest Assured or Karate) using Core Java
• in depth knowledge & experience in an AWS/microservices environment/testing
• Collaborate with QA/Dev team members to automate test cases (UI and API)
• Good knowledge of Payment Domain
• Have expertise in Core Java (Java 8 and above)
• Have very good hands‑on knowledge on creating frameworks for UI and API
• Good experience in BDD Agile methodology along with Cucumber based projects
• Good testing framework knowledge like Junit, TestNG
• Have end to end automation experience from Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins etc.
• Good exposure to Agile based project
• Comfortable in designing and implementing automation test scripts based on the requirements
• Knowledge of test management tools and systems – such as JIRA, Rally Confluence
• Good Knowledge of handling stakeholder or cross-functional testing teams
• Ability to summarize / present technical information in a manner that others can understand
