Octalogic Tech LLP is seeking a QA Engineer to test web apps for clients, working with developers and a project manager. You’ll focus on automated end-to-end tests with Playwright in TypeScript/JavaScript, along with manual and API testing.

You’ll build on our test frameworks using the page-object model and data-driven tests, write test plans, and ensure UI compatibility across browsers in a CI/CD pipeline.

About the role

You’ll test the products we build for clients, mostly web apps, working closely with developers and a project manager. Most of your time goes on automated end-to-end tests in Playwright, alongside manual and API testing.

What you will do

• Write and maintain end-to-end tests in Playwright, in TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Build on our test frameworks using the page-object model and data-driven tests.
• Write test plans, scenarios and cases for functional, regression and integration testing.
• Test manually, including API testing, where automation doesn’t fit.
• Test the UI across browsers.
• Log defects in Jira, with clear steps and the root cause where you can find it.
• Keep test data current, and run tests in the CI/CD pipeline.

What we look for

• Experience with Playwright, in TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Manual testing, the page-object model and data-driven frameworks.
• API and functional testing.

• Clear spoken and written English.
• Nice to have: Jest, Mocha or a similar unit-testing tool; Cypress.

You’ll also need

• Experience working remotely, and comfort with remote tools and practices.
• A stable internet connection.
• Comfort working hours that overlap with the client’s working day.
• Experience means paid work on products people use, for clients or at a product company. Course, training and personal projects don’t count.
