Job summary

Valuelabs is seeking a seasoned API test automation engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable frameworks using Rest Assured and ReadyAPI. You will perform backend testing for REST and GraphQL, and drive quality across microservices in cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with API test automation frameworks and tools.
• Experience in end-to-end API testing, contract validation, data-driven testing, and security testing.
• Solid understanding of AWS Cloud services (S3, Lambda, EC2, CloudFormation, CloudWatch).
• Experience testing backend logic, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and integrations with external systems.
• Proficiency in Java or JavaScript/TypeScript for writing automation scripts.
• Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum practices and sprint-based delivery.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable API test automation frameworks using Rest Assured and ReadyAPI.
• Perform backend testing for RESTful and GraphQL APIs, including functional, integration, security, performance, and regression testing.
• Execute end-to-end test scenarios across microservices and distributed systems in cloud environments.
• Collaborate with Dev, DevOps, and product teams in Agile/Scrum environments to ensure quality is built into every sprint.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests into GitLab, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Utilize AWS Cloud services (S3, Lambda, EC2, API Gateway, CloudWatch) for test environment provisioning, data management, and monitoring.
• Implement and manage access control and authentication testing (e.g., OAuth, JWT, SSO) to ensure secure system behavior.
• Write clean, maintainable, and reusable test code using Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Support test planning, test case design, defect tracking, and reporting with tools like Jira, Confluence, and TestRail.
• Act as a point of contact for QA activities across offshore and onsite teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote best practices in automation, test design, and quality engineering.
• Participate in client meetings, sprint reviews, and UAT support, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands‑on experience with Rest Assured, ReadyAPI, Postman, and TestNG/JUnit
• Proven experience in end-to-end API testing, contract validation, data‑driven testing, and security testing
• Solid understanding of AWS Cloud (S3, Lambda, EC2, CloudFormation, CloudWatch)
• Experience in testing backend logic, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and integrations with external systems
• Proficiency in Java or JavaScript/TypeScript for writing automation scripts
