Role Purpose
The AutoCAD Draughtsman turns engineering designs and customer specifications into accurate, production-ready drawings for SigmaFlow's valves used in water and wastewater projects. The role supports tendering, customer approvals, shop-floor manufacturing and quality inspection, so drawings must be precise, standards-compliant and delivered on time.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Drawing preparation
- Prepare 2D general arrangement (GA) drawings, part drawings, assembly drawings and sectional views for valves such as Gate Valves, Butterfly, Check/Non-return, Air valves, Diaphragm and Control valves.
- Prepare casting drawings and pattern drawings for foundry suppliers.
- Draw bills of materials (BOMs) and parts lists, and keep them aligned with item codes.
Project and tender support
- Prepare customer approval drawings and datasheets for Municipal, EPC and Industrial water/wastewater projects, as per tender specifications.
- Incorporate consultant and customer comments quickly and resubmit revised drawings within committed timelines.
- Prepare actuator mounting, gearbox and accessory arrangement drawings, including Flange drilling details (IS, ANSI/ASME B16.5, EN 1092, AWWA).
- Support the sales and proposal teams with dimensional drawings for quotations.
Manufacturing and quality support
- Issue released drawings to production, purchase, quality and vendors and clarify drawing queries on the shop floor.
- Prepare inspection and test drawings and support QA with dimensional references for inspection and third-party inspection (TPI).
- Update drawings based on field feedback, NCRs and design improvements.
Documentation and drawing control
- Maintain drawing numbering, revision control and change records as per the company's document control system.
- Keep the drawing library, standard parts and templates organized and up to date.
- Follow title block, layering and drafting standards consistently across all drawings.
- Coordinate with design engineers on 3D models and extract 2D drawings where required.
