Job summary

Smart Work Consultancy is seeking an Audit Specialist to conduct regular internal audits across stores, warehouses, and head office operations. You will verify daily sales, cash collections, bank deposits, and audit POS billing, discounts, returns, and promotional transactions.

You will monitor inventory and stock movements, identify discrepancies and process deviations, and ensure compliance with internal controls, SOPs, and company policies. Travel to multiple outlets may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in supermarkets and multi-outlet retail is preferred.
• Exposure to stock audits, cash audits, and compliance audits.
• Knowledge of retail accounting processes and controls.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular internal audits of stores, warehouses, and head office.
• Verify daily sales, cash, deposits, and cash balances.
• Audit POS billing, discounts, returns, refunds, and promos.
• Monitor inventory, stock movements, and stock verification.
• Identify stock discrepancies and process deviations.
• Verify purchase bills and vendor payments.
• Review petty cash and store-level transactions.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOPs.
• Prepare audit reports with observations and corrective actions.
• Follow up to close audit observations.
• Conduct surprise audits and periodic compliance checks.

Role & responsibilities

• Conduct regular internal audits of retail stores, warehouses, and head office operations.
• Verify daily sales, cash collections, bank deposits, and cash balances.
• Audit POS billing, discounts, returns, refunds, and promotional transactions.
• Monitor inventory, stock movements, GRN, stock transfers, and physical stock verification.
• Identify stock discrepancies, wastage, pilferage, and process deviations.
• Verify purchase bills, vendor payments, expenses, and supporting documents.
• Review petty cash, expense claims, and store-level financial transactions.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOPs, and company policies.
• Identify financial irregularities, operational risks, and control weaknesses.
• Prepare audit reports with observations, findings, and corrective action recommendations.
• Follow up with departments and store teams to ensure audit observations are closed.
• Conduct surprise audits and periodic compliance checks.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience in supermarkets, departmental stores, food retail, FMCG retail, fashion retail, or multi-outlet retail chains.
• Exposure to stock audits, cash audits, operational audits, and compliance audits.
• Knowledge of ERP/POS systems and retail accounting processes.
