JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Overseetheday-to-dayfunctioningoftheBiomedicalEngineeringdepartmentand ensure timely support to all hospital departments.
• Ensure optimum availability, functionality and uptime of critical biomedical equipmentacross the hospital.
• Monitor and coordinate preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of biomedical equipment.
• Ensuretimelycompletionofscheduledpreventivemaintenanceandcalibrationof
• Prioritizeandcoordinate resolution of equipmentbreakdowns basedonclinicalcriticality and patient safety requirements.
• Maintain andperiodically update the biomedical equipmentinventory, assetrecords, and equipment
• Monitorequipmentdowntime,breakdownfrequency,repeatfailuresandmaintenance trends, and initiate corrective action.
• Coordinateinstallation,testing,commissioning,andhandoverofnewbiomedical
• Coordinatewith clinical and nursing departments to understandequipmentrequirements and resolve technical issues.
• Manage andmonitorAMC/CMC contracts,includingserviceschedules, vendorresponse, resolution timelines,and contract renewals.
• Monitorvendorperformanceandensurecompliancewithagreedservicelevelsand maintenance
• Participateintechnical evaluation of biomedicalequipment,preparationof specifications, and evaluation of vendor quotations.
• Providetechnical inputsforprocurement,replacement,upgradation, andcondemnation of biomedical equipment.
• Verifyvendorservicereports,maintenancerecords,calibrationcertificates,andother technical documentation.
• Ensure faulty orunsafe equipmentisappropriatelyisolated,labelled, and notreturned to the departments until necessary repairs/checksare completed.
• Ensurecompliancewithapplicable NABH,statutory,safetyandhospitalqualityrequirementsrelating to biomedical
• Supportinvestigations androot-causeanalysisofequipment-relatedincidents,failures, andpatient-safety concerns.
• Monitor repairand maintenance expenditure and identifyopportunitiesforcost optimizationwithout compromisingpatient safety orequipment reliability.
• Assist inpreparationandmonitoringoftheannualBiomedical Engineering
• Supervise,guideandallocateworktoBiomedicalEngineers,Techniciansandother departmental staff.
• MonitordepartmentalperformancethroughMIScovering equipmentuptime, preventive maintenance, breakdowns, downtime, calibration, AMC/CMC and vendor performance.
• Identifyrecurringequipmentfailuresandrecommendrepair,replacementorlifecycle management
• Ensureproperdocumentationandauditreadinessofallbiomedicalengineering
• Conduct/coordinateusertrainingincollaborationwithequipmentvendorsandclinical departments to promote safe and appropriate equipment usage.
• DevelopandimplementdepartmentalSOPs,workprocesses,andservicestandardsfor biomedical equipment
• CoordinatewithEngineering,Purchase,Finance,IT, Stores,Qualityandother relevant departments for biomedical equipment-related requirements.
• Ensure 24x7availabilityoftechnicalsupportfor critical patient-careequipment,as per hospital requirements and departmental roster.
• Promoteacultureofpatientsafety,preventivemaintenance,accountability,andcontinuous improvementwithin theBiomedical Engineering
