Job summary

KP Groups in India invites an Electrical Engineer to join our transmission and substation maintenance team. You will oversee 66 kV substation O&M, supervise field staff, coordinate outages, and ensure equipment operates within specified parameters.

The role requires 5–7 years of relevant experience, knowledge of protection systems and SCADA, and adherence to IS/IEC safety norms and CEA regulations. Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Diploma or B.E./B.Tech).
• 5–7 years in 66 kV substation and transmission line O&M.
• Knowledge of protection systems, SCADA, testing protocols.
• Familiar with IS/IEC safety norms and CEA regulations.
• MS Office; AutoCAD basics; ETAP/PSCAD (optional).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support routine and breakdown maintenance for 66 kV substations.
• Ensure breakers, isolators, CTs, PTs, relays operate within defined parameters.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and protection coordination.
• Maintain logs, SOPs, and compliance docs for audits.
• Patrol and inspect 66 kV transmission lines; address ROW and tower issues.
• Support shutdown planning and maintenance execution.
• Adhere to safety protocols and participate in audits.
• Maintain equipment performance logs, testing records, and calibration data.
• Supervise contractors and field staff during operations and projects.
• Liaise with load dispatch centers, control rooms, and engineering teams.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned outages.
• Assist in new substation/line installation projects (66 kV).
• Material verification, site readiness, and progress monitoring.
• Report project status and flag risks or delays.

Job description

• Support routine and breakdown maintenance activities for 66 kV substations.
• Ensure substation equipment (breakers, isolators, CTs, PTs, relays) are operating within defined parameters.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and protection coordination.
• Maintain logs, SOPs, and compliance documentation for regulatory audits.

Transmission Line Maintenance:

• Conduct patrolling and periodic inspections of 66 kV transmission lines.
• Identify right-of-way issues, vegetation management needs, and tower integrity concerns.
• Support shutdown planning and maintenance work execution.

Technical & Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to statutory and internal safety protocols.
• Participate in safety audits, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Maintain equipment performance logs, testing records, and calibration data.

Team Coordination & Supervision:

• Supervise contractors and field staff during routine operations and projects.
• Liaise with load dispatch centers, control rooms, and engineering teams.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination for planned and unplanned outages.

Project Support:

• Assist in new substation or line installation projects (66 kV scope).
• Participate in material verification, site readiness, and progress monitoring.
• Report project status to management and flag risks or delays.
