Job summary

JobItUs in India is seeking an Assistant Fitter to support the Project & Engineering team in installation, fabrication, maintenance, alignment, and repair of mechanical equipment and structures in a ferro/steel plant. The candidate will work under the supervision of senior fitters, supervisors, and engineers.

You will assist in the installation of machines, pipelines, structures, conveyors, and equipment, perform basic fitting and finishing, read basic mechanical drawings, and follow SOPs and

Qualifications

• Ability to assist in mechanical installation and maintenance.
• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and measurements.
• Familiarity with hand tools and basic mechanical instruments.

We are looking for an Assistant Fitter to support the Project & Engineering team in installation, fabrication, maintenance, alignment, and repair of mechanical equipment and structures in a ferro/steel plant. The candidate will work under the supervision of senior fitters, supervisors, and engineers.

• Assist senior fitters in mechanical installation and maintenance activities.
• Support installation of machines, pipelines, structures, conveyors and equipment.
• Assist in fabrication, erection and assembly work.
• Perform basic fitting, cutting, drilling, grinding and finishing activities.
• Assist with machine alignment, leveling and positioning.
• Support maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment.
• Assist in installation and maintenance of conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, crushers, fans, ducts and other plant equipment.
• Read and understand basic mechanical drawings and measurements.
• Use hand tools and basic mechanical tools safely.
• Assist in dismantling and reassembly of equipment during maintenance/shutdown.
• Support the Project Engineer/Fitter in site erection and commissioning activities.
• Maintain proper tools and equipment at the work site.
• Follow SOPs, safety procedures and PPE requirements.
