Job summary

Liquidnitro Games in Hyderabad is seeking an Associate Technical Director to lead a team of engineers and shape the technical vision for our mobile games.

You will collaborate with designers and product managers, ensure coding best practices, optimize performance, and drive adoption of new tools and processes. The role requires 6–8 years of game development experience and a strong foundation in C++/C# and game engines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Engineering.

As an Associate Technical Director, you will work closely with the Technical Directors and other key stakeholders to oversee the technical development of our games. This role involves leading a team of engineers, ensuring the technical quality of our products, and collaborating with other departments to achieve our game development goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Technical Director in defining the technical vision and strategy for game development.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team.
• Ensure the implementation of best practices in coding, architecture, and performance optimization.
• Oversee the technical aspects of game development projects from conception to release.
• Work closely with designers, artists, and product managers to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with creative vision.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the development team and across departments.
• Lead by example by contributing to the codebase and participating in code reviews.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our games remain at the forefront of innovation.
• Drive the adoption of new tools, technologies, and processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Promote a culture of innovation, continuous learning and improvement within the development team.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the development lifecycle. Develop contingency plans to address potential issues.

Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 6-8 years of experience in game development, with a focus on mobile platforms. Previous experience in a technical leadership role is highly desirable.
• Deep understanding of game engines, optimization techniques, and performance profiling.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as C++ or C# with a solid foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
• Understanding of memory management, file systems, multi-threading, and runtime optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and address technical issues efficiently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of Crashlytics and Google Play console
• Familiarity with cloud services and backend technologies.
• In depth knowledge on third party SDK integration. Preferably, Ad SDKs such as Google, Ironsource, FAN, Vungle etc.
• A genuine passion for gaming and a deep understanding of the gaming industry.
• Understanding of AI-Tools and ability to adapt them in workflows to improve productivity.
