Nuveen is seeking a Specialist - Data Engineering to design, build and optimize data pipelines on AWS, leveraging Glue, S3, Lambda and Snowflake for cybersecurity data processing.

You will shape data lakes, apply star schema and SCD modelling, tune SQL for Spark workloads, and orchestrate workflows with MWAA. The role also covers IaC with Terraform, API integrations, AI/GenAI exposure and dashboards in Tableau or Power BI for leadership.

Formación

• 5+ years in data engineering or related field.
• Experience with AWS data services (Glue, S3, Lambda).
• Strong SQL and data modeling (Star/Snowflake, SCD).
• Proficient in Spark, MWAA orchestration and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of data governance, security controls and encryption.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines using AWS Glue, S3, Lambda and Snowflake.
• Build and optimize data lakes and warehouses with Star/Snowflake schema and SCD modelling.
• Apply SQL optimization and distributed-systems principles to resolve performance bottlenecks in Spark and warehouse workloads.
• Build and maintain MWAA workflow orchestration with DAGs, schedules, retries and SLAs.
• Monitor production workloads and troubleshoot failures; manage CI/CD via Terraform.
• Create and manage API integrations using REST, JSON and OAuth.
• Leverage AI/GenAI to improve data engineering outcomes and ML-ready datasets.
• Publish dashboards in Tableau or Power BI for leadership audiences.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines using AWS Glue, S3, Lambda and Snowflake to process and transform cybersecurity data on a scale.
• Build and optimize data lakes and warehouses for structured and unstructured data, applying Star/Snowflake schema and Slowly Changing Dimension modelling.
• Apply SQL optimization and distributed-systems principles to resolve performance bottlenecks across Spark, Glue and warehouse workloads.
• Build and maintain workflow orchestration in Amazon MWAA, covering DAG development, cross-pipeline dependencies, schedules, retries, SLAs and backfills.
• Monitor production workloads, troubleshoot failures, manage batch windows and reduce recurring pipeline incidents.
• Manage Terraform‑based Infrastructure‑as‑Code deployments and CI/CD pipelines for automated, repeatable releases.
• Create and manage API integrations using RESTful calls, JSON and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth and API keys.
• Exposure to AI and Generative AI, applying these capabilities to improve data engineering outcomes.
• Build and utilize curated datasets to implement AI/ML use cases.
• Implement data governance, security controls, encryption and access management aligned to cloud and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Design and publish dashboards and reporting datasets in Tableau or Power BI for business and leadership audiences.
