Job summary

ABB in Bengaluru is seeking a role to support the R&D Lab Network and DSAC lab operations. The candidate will configure and maintain the lab network, interact with IS and DSAC teams, and ensure safety and security guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering with 0–2 years of experience in Network domain.
• Strong fundamental networking skills including debugging.
• Basic knowledge of firewall configuration.
• Familiarity with virtualization products (VMware and VirtualBox).
• Basic knowledge of working with embedded devices (powering, firmware updates, serial communication, LAN troubleshooting).
• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP (advantage).
• Experience with security tools like Nmap and Nessus (advantage).

Responsibilities

• Configuration and maintenance for Lab Network.
• Coordinate with IS team as required.
• Coordinate with DSAC Analysts for monthly test setup within time-box.
• Maintain DSAC lab to meet ABB safety and security guidelines.
• Manage inventory of DSAC lab equipment and test devices.
• Coordinate with Shipping and SCM to track devices shipped for testing.
• Perform security scans using Nmap, Nessus, and ISIC.

This Position reports to: R&D Team Lead

Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the strategic technology direction by contributing your own ideas for identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative technology, software and solutions. Each day, you will assist the Research and Development (R&D) team by executing your assigned tasks and using technical knowledge in a structured way. You will also showcase your expertise by staying abreast of the state of the art and actively applying this knowledge.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business in Bangalore.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Configuration & Maintenance for Lab Network.
• Interaction with IS team, whenever required.
• Interaction with DSAC Analysts in Bangalore to fulfill the initial test setup under time box manner every month.
• Overall Maintenance of the DSAC lab, so that Lab Comply with Safety and security Parameters as per ABB guidelines.
• Maintenance of Inventory for DSAC LAB equipment’s as well as Devices which DSAC receives for testing.
• Interaction with Shipping team as well as SCM team to track the Devices which have been shipped by product team to DSAC lab for Testing.
• Performing security scans using tools Nmap, Nessus, and ISIC.
