Job summary

Lemon Yellow LLP is seeking an Associate QA Engineer to join our Thane, Maharashtra team. The role focuses on manual testing with a basic automation and API testing understanding, testing web and mobile apps, and ensuring UI/UX consistency across platforms.

Candidate should know Jira, Jira/Zoho style defect tracking, Excel, Java, and Selenium/Katalon Studio, with a readiness to use AI tools to improve QA efficiency. BE/B.Tech or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/BSc/BCA or equivalent degree in IT/CS or related field.
• 0–1 year of experience or strong knowledge in Software Testing/QA.
• BFSI/Fintech exposure preferred.
• Solid understanding of STLC/SDLC.
• Strong knowledge of Manual and Functional Testing.
• Basic API testing and automation scripting ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform Manual, Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and Integration Testing for web and mobile apps.
• Create, review, and execute detailed test cases and scenarios.
• Maintain test execution reports and ensure coverage across features.
• Conduct UI/UX testing and verify cross‑platform consistency.
• Perform basic API testing and assist with automation scripts.
• Log, track, and follow up defects using Jira/Zoho; maintain QA docs.
• Collaborate with Developers, Designers, Analysts and clients.
• Explore AI tools to improve QA productivity and processes.

We are looking for an Associate QA Engineer.

Overview

We are looking for a QA Engineer with strong knowledge of manual testing and a basic understanding of automation and API testing. The role involves testing web and mobile applications, creating test cases, identifying defects, and ensuring a consistent UI/UX across platforms. The ideal candidate should be familiar with Jira, Figma, Excel, Java, and Selenium/Katalon and be eager to use AI tools to improve QA efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Testing

• Perform Manual, Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and Integration Testing for web and mobile applications.
• Understand application requirements and ensure functionality meets expected business and user requirements.
• Identify, document, and validate defects throughout the testing lifecycle.

Test Case & Scenario Management

• Understand business requirements and create, review, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios.
• Maintain test execution reports and ensure adequate test coverage across application features.
• Perform retesting and regression testing to ensure issues are properly resolved.

UI/UX & Cross-Platform Testing

• Perform UI/UX testing and identify design inconsistencies using Figma and other relevant tools.
• Validate applications across different browsers, devices, screen sizes, and responsive layouts.
• Ensure the application provides a consistent and user-friendly experience.

API & Automation Testing

• Perform basic API testing and validate request/response data.
• Gain exposure to automation testing using Java with Selenium or Katalon Studio.
• Understand, write, and execute individual automation test scripts to support testing activities.

Defect Management & Documentation

• Log, track, prioritize, and follow up on defects using Jira, Zoho, or similar test and defect management platforms.
• Maintain test cases, test execution reports, defect reports, and other QA documentation using Excel and test management tools.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure defects are resolved and validated within expected timelines.

Collaboration & Requirement Analysis

• Collaborate effectively with Developers, UI/UX Designers, Business Analysts, Clients, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in requirement discussions and provide a QA perspective to identify potential issues and improve product quality.
• Contribute to a collaborative and quality-focused development environment.

AI-Assisted QA & Continuous Improvement

• Use AI tools responsibly and effectively to improve productivity in test case creation, test data preparation, documentation, and automation support.
• Explore new QA tools, techniques, and methodologies to improve testing efficiency and product quality.
• Continuously learn and contribute to improving QA processes and practices.

Required Skills

• BE/B.Tech/BSc/BCA or equivalent degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 06 - 1 year of experience or strong knowledge in Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
• BFSI / Fintech domain experience or exposure is preferred.
• Good understanding of STLC and SDLC.
• Strong knowledge of Manual and Functional Testing.
• Basic understanding of API Testing.
• Strong knowledge of Java + Selenium.
• Basic knowledge of Katalon Studio.
• Ability to create and maintain basic automation scripts independently.
• Good understanding of UI/UX testing and Figma designs.
• Knowledge of Jira, Zoho, Excel, or similar test and defect management tools.
• Basic understanding of the BFSI/Fintech domain will be an added advantage.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and client-facing environment.
