Job summary

Hitachi Energy India Operations Center invites engineers to join the GIS Primary Offer Engineering team. You will assist Sales & Tendering in drafting tender documents and drawings, and contribute to primary engineering of Gas Insulated Switchgear for 66kV and above, delivering cost estimates and BOM calculations.

You will collaborate with other departments, strive for DtV-Optimized solutions, and ensure documentation alignment with quality processes, safety, and integrity values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EEE or Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–5 years of tendering or design experience in LV/MV/HV or EHV products.
• Good knowledge about substations.
• Familiarity with IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Support Sales & Tendering engineers to develop tender documents and drawings.
• Prepare GIS drawings (SLD, lay out, cable tray, earthing, cabling) for 66kV GIS tenders.
• Calculate system resistance, thermal loss, gas volume, and BOM.
• Coordinate with other teams and ensure timely solutions.
• Maintain and update project/tender documentation per quality processes.

The opportunity

“The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 3600+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning.”

Your responsibility:

• You will be a part of the GIS Primary Offer Engineering team.




• You will be supporting the Sales & Tendering engineers to develop Tender specific engineering documents and drawings for calculating right cost and drawings submission to customer as part of offer documentation.




• This role complete involved in Primary Engineering of Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS) of transmission and sub-transmission systems.




• You will be an individual contributor who would deliver the tasks as per the given inputs and when required need to work in coordination with other colleagues and should exhibit good collaborative skills to complete the task.




• You may also interact with other departments like Secondary engineering, Steel structure engineering, Project Management and Production units.




• Preparation of drawings and documents for customer submission for Gas Insulated Switchgear above 66kV.




• The major deliverables are listed below, but not limited to Gas SLD, GIS Lay out, cable tray layout, earthing layout, Cabling overview and assembly overview.




• System resistance, Thermal loss, Gas volume, Earthing mat and Cable calculations




• Bill of material calculation




• Preparation of cost estimation based on the BOM generated.




• Self-review & review of peer’s documents




• Coordinating with the other team members, Sales Support engineers & Area sales Managers




• Strong in Design to value (DtV) and preparation on optimized solutions considering customer requirements.




• Directly responsible for maintaining and updating the documentation for respective projects / Tenders as per quality process.




• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

• Bachelor’s degree in EEE / Mechanical Engineering.




• 1-5 years of experience in tendering or design of LV, MV, HV or EHV products




• Good knowledge about substations




• Good knowledge in CAD tools (AutoCad, Creo/Equivalent)




• Familiarity with standards like IEC, IEEE, ANSI etc will be an added advantage




• Team player and able to handle sales targets and prepare solutions on time.




• Excellent communication skills in English
