Job description

Role Summary

Purplle.com is building a dedicated cost and PnL charter for its supply chain organization, and is looking for an Associate Program Manager to own it. This role sits at the intersection of analytics and execution — owning the numbers behind the network (fulfillment centers, distribution centers, dark stores, and B2B/B2C logistics) and converting cost insight into structured programs that deliver measurable results. The ideal candidate is analytically strong, understands cost and PnL mechanics in depth, and is equally comfortable driving an initiative independently from ideation through to execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost & PnL Ownership:
  • Build and maintain a consolidated view of supply chain cost and PnL across FC, DC, DS, and B2B/B2C logistics networks.
  • Identify cost drivers, deviations, and improvement opportunities across the end-to-end network.
  • Partner with finance and operations teams to reconcile cost data and ensure PnL accuracy at a network and node level.
  • Program Management & Execution:
  • Convert cost insights into structured programs — defining scope, timelines, ownership, and success criteria.
  • Independently drive programs from ideation through execution, managing multiple work-streams in parallel.
  • Set up governance cadences — trackers, reviews, escalation paths — to keep programs on track and stakeholders aligned.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
  • Build and maintain dashboards and MIS to track cost performance across the network.
  • Translate large, often messy datasets into clear, decision-ready insights for leadership.
  • Continuously validate cost assumptions against ground reality and proactively flag anomalies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Operations, Finance, Control Tower, Logistics, and Inventory Planning teams to align on cost initiatives.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders with clarity and rigor.
  • Build credibility across the network to drive adoption of cost programs on the ground.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR:
Education -
  • Graduate or postgraduate degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline. MBA preferred, not mandatory.
Experience -
  • 2–3 years of experience in e-commerce or supply chain operations, with meaningful exposure to cost, PnL, or program management work.
Core Skills -
  • Strong analytical ability — comfortable working with large datasets, building models, and drawing structured conclusions.
  • Detailed understanding of cost structures and PnL mechanics across a supply chain network.
  • Demonstrated project/program management skills — able to plan, structure, and independently execute initiatives.
  • Sharp communication skills — able to distill complex cost data into a clear narrative for leadership.
Tools & Systems -
  • Working knowledge of BigQuery, Metabase, Looker Studio, SAP/B1-HANA, Easyecom, and Dice preferred; willingness to ramp up quickly on the full stack is essential.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
  • Genuine ownership mindset — treats the numbers as their own, not as a reporting exercise.
  • Bias for execution — moves from analysis to action without hand-holding.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity — builds structure where none exists.
  • Track record of driving initiatives independently and delivering measurable outcomes.
