Job summary

GEA Germany GmbH in Bengaluru is seeking a Material Planner to optimise production supply. You will ensure scheduling, BOM integrity and data accuracy to meet production requirements while controlling costs.

Qualified candidates have a BE in Mechanical Engineering with 5-8 years of material planning experience, SAP MM proficiency, and strong analytical and communication skills. Lean knowledge is a plus in this global engineering group.

Responsibilities

• Ensure material scheduling strategy and processes align with production needs and minimum stock levels; optimise costs.
• Own material planning issues, including over/under delivery, and follow up on shortages affecting production.
• Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.
• Seek and recommend solutions to meet production requirements.
• Implement flexible solutions to improve business efficiency and drive process improvements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure consistent materials planning processes across the business.
• Verify MRPs are accurate, data is up to date, and resolve issues as needed.
• Investigate and implement system enhancement initiatives.
• Maintain BOM integrity and inventory accuracy; manage inventory levels and movements.
• Provide operational information, reports and metrics to stakeholders as required.
• Report on target achievement and define corrective actions.

Responsibilities / Tasks

• Ensure that material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and work effectively in order to ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimum stock levels, whilst optimising costs
• Take ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery and take any follow up actions especially in the event of material shortages that affect production
• Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
• Seek and recommend solutions to overcome issues arising in order to meet production requirements.
• Implement flexible solutions to aid business efficiency, drive process improvements and add value
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure that professional and consistent materials planning processes are applied across the business
• Ensure that any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) in place is effective and that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required
• Investigate and implement system enhancement initiatives
• Ensure the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and inventory accuracy at all times and manage and control inventory levels and movements
• Ensure that the operational information, reports and metrics are available to share with others in the business as and when required
• Report on achievement of targets and identify any corrective action

Your Profile / Qualifications

• Qualification BE in Mechanical Engineering and must worked with Mfg. of engineering components / OEMs.

Job Requirements

• Min. 5-8 years of experience in handling Material planning
• Trained on basic lean concepts would be added advantage.
• Solid understanding of Procurement, Planning and inventory management software SAP (SAP MM Module).
• Outstanding analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
